writing a scholarly piece on the gothic "subculture" interview subjects needed!

Don't worry folks, I'm the one doing the writing! Both my pop culture professor as well as my anthropology prof have been asking a lot of questions about both my personal choices that lead to my "gothdom" for lack of a better word, as well as the subculture as a whole.

In order to try and make it...understandable (and not make it the size of an encyclopedia)....I'm going to base in a metaphor that is City Club.

This paper (and scientific journal article) will be SCHOLARLY and factual, my personal biases being removed as best as possible. Since I'm relatively new to the goth world, this should be relatively easy to avoid.

So, I guess what I'm asking for is people who would be willing to be interviewed (either by email, skype, in person, over the phone, etc). If I interview you at CC, you WILL get a free drink out of me (assuming you're old enough).

I'd like to inverview a vast array of people if possible: men, women, old (*cough* Troy *cough* :p ), young, as well as members of the various "sects" of gothdom (for lack of a better phrase).

If anyone would be comfortable being interviewed by me, please either drop me a post or a pm, I'd be really grateful!

Thanks so much!

Well, you actually have a win win situation going on here just by being a member of DGN. A lot of members have already written about their experiences in the sub culture they have chosen as well as several resource links to video vloggers (courtesy of Class-Punk) http://www.detroitgo...showtopic=37479

In my opinion, if it's posted, it's public record and thereby viable for public use. Not sure how much help I would be:

Truth be told, I was informed that my style was that of steampunk by a cashier at a camera shop during a run whilst on my way to a Top Hats and Bonnets Spring Tea at Martha Cook in Ann Arbor. Around here at the Home House it is just referred to as "my flair".

Long story short, that same cashier invited me to The World Steam Expo 2 in May of 2011 which is where I first encountered others who dressed somewhat as I did. Believe it or not, but my outfits actually stood out amongst the crowd there. :hrhr:

I'll have to stop here before I get too carried away, I can definitely overkill a response :hrhr:

Not sure if I'd qualify but I'm willing to assist if you'll have me (not in "that" way). :)

Everybody's interview will help. I should have an official set of questions done by this weekend and will get um sent your way. Thanks a ton!

Well being an 'old school' type of City Club person and, in the interest of furthering education , I was told I was more 'vamp-goth' however since I don't wear fangs, I do love my velvet gowns, gloves and boots..I am more 'Elegant-goth (Ele-goth_/romantic-goth" so sure love to help! I have a Skype, email, cell...hit me up
