Well it's been a long time in the making,

Sandee and I are getting a divorce this summer. Being single again is something I really dread. We are splitting up on good terms though. We are just no longer compatible. We have grown apart. I wonder who else out there has had this experience? I'm also getting open heart surgery and will be dropping a lot of weight and toning up my body for the next year. A complete Robert Make-over:) What I wonder is, how does a 40 year old man get sexy again? I feel so out of touch with the young gothlings these days. Well, a front man has gotta be sexy for his band so if you have suggestions on improving this old man I'm all ears:)

Thank you

been through the "growing apart" thing before. it's good that you guys can realize the need to be apart and be adult about it. sometimes divorce is the best option. only advice i have is to be a little selfish with your time for a while. do things you like, take care of yourself, get healthy, the rest should take care of itself (unless you're me, of course).

sending good vibes for your surgery, as well as the rest.

Divorce court has been called a "male meat grinder", the statistics are there, and its part of the reason many men are choosing not to marry anymore. So hopefully you're on good enough terms not to get screwed over.

I don't agree with everything on this website, but I think its extremely relevant.

Make sure you pay as much attention to your mental and emotional health as you do the physical. That can start slipping and before you know it your being restrained and not for fun. (sorry had to add a bit of humor to that) No but seriously, make sure you stay on top of that. Good luck to you on your surgery and I hope everything in the divorce goes as smooth as possible. My ex had me believing we were under mutual agreement and everything was kosher, until about a month, maybe even less than before the court hearing, he flipped the script and hired a lawyer..didn't even give me a chance.

I don't know much about the divorce part (never had a woman who could put up with me long enough for it.).

But as far as getting healthy, don't diet. Make a total change in your eating habits. All fitness is 70% diet, 30% exercise.

From what I reckon, from what I saw at Kubo, you definitely had a good start.

I hate to see any couple split, but from what I saw as someone looking in, there were definitely some differences that were not amicable. It's best you guys identified that early, decided to split on friendly terms, and are moving on instead of dragging each other out for a few decades and THEN realizing it.

I wish you both the best and hope you always remain close friends!
