"Watch and share this commemorative time-lapse movie, highlighting progress at the World Trade Center site from October 2004 to September 2013. Witness the rise of One World Trade Center, including the installation of the spire, bringing it to a staggering height of 1,776 feet. Hundreds of thousands of high definition images were captured over the past 9 years and hand-edited for this special time-lapse movie."

Great. The 1776 feet is a nice touch. Didn't realize it was so far along. I remember when they had the two huge spotlights aiming straight up were the towers used to be.

I've spent a lot of time following the details surrounding the events leading up to and the day of 9/11 (trying to remember to not forget the non-NY tragedies) but am largely oblivious to the current site.

I know it's built on the former area that 6WTC was located at (World Trade Center 6) that is , north of the north tower. Since land is at a superpremium in Manhattan i'm sure that whole area will be redeveloped. Investors were miffed for decades that the "plaza" area in the center of the world trade buildings was open (figured they could squeeze more money out of it).

Most of my life the twin towers was a mainstay of TV/Movies i'm just now getting used to the NY skyline without them.

1776 feet is a nice touch.
