Fierce Critter
Here's what I'd say if you asked (and you did!) GOOD description. Are you sure you're not selling yourself short on the condition of the Barbie box? Looks excellent to me - if it's less than perfect, you might add exactly what's wrong. For instance, "1-inch long scratch on one side, some rubbing from shelf-wear, plastic window intact but coming loose on one side, side slightly pushed in," that sort of thing. If there isn't anything visible like that, bump your "good" up to "excellent". Your picture is actually quite good. Somewhat out of focus on the barbie doll, but as a seller who's done 6 years on ebay with the same 1 mpx camera, I know what kind of limitations we sometimes have to deal with. If you have a scanner, consider using that - I do for anything that needs a close-up, since my camera just won't take them. Also, consider a white background in the future. I take EVERYTHING on a white background - with the exception of WHITE or particularly pale items like kitchen appliances, etc. The only things I start my auction at higher than $9.00 on are things that, if you research similar items, tend to get one single bid at the start price and no higher, competing bids. For instance, if that same Barbie tends to go for $15.00 by other sellers, starting that high is fine. But otherwise, you can save yourself listing fees by not listing higher than $9.99 per item. If we're pretty sure we'll get multiple bids, we never start higher than $9.00, without reserves. I can explain this more if you'd like. "Shipping insurance Not offered" - UPS includes shipping on anything up to $99.00. You might add that language - it might boost sales. Your payment instructions: it just kinda drops off. Here's an edit if you'd like: Money Order/Certified Check only. Must be recieved within 7 days of auction end. Please include all your contact information (name, address, e-mail and telephone #) with your payment as well as the title of the item you won. I will notify you when payment is received & item is shipped, with tracking #. All shipments are made the Monday after payment is received. MULTIPLE AUCTION WINNERS: Contact me for combined shipping rates. Also, consider using Andale counters. They're free, and can give you an idea of how many views your item is getting. www.andale.com GOOD LUCK!

Fierce Critter
O.k. Here's the thing... I looked at what identical items have sold for. ALL of them go for well over $190, with the exception of some with problems or not all original parts, that still go for around $100. Basically, you can almost assuredly make close to what others have gone for - so there's no need to start the item that high. It's the weird nature of the eBay beast - that even if someone is willing to pay $50 for an item, if an identical item is listed starting at only $9.99, they will bid on the one that starts at $9.99 rather than the one that starts at $50. Even if they KNOW all of them will sell for $200, regardless of start price. So save yourself some money and revise that item - drop the start price to $9.99 at the most. Before we sell ANYTHING on eBay, we search for the same item under completed items. That gives us an idea of how much we can expect to make on an item. The ONLY items we start at more than $9.00 are handmade things we wouldn't let go for less than a certain price, or things we'd just as soon keep for ourselves if they don't get a certain price for starters. And with RARE exception, we almost NEVER set a reserve price. Again, we only do that if we'd just as soon keep the item for ourselves than let it go for less than a certain amount. Fierce Critter
Kick ass - you got that start bid on that radar detector! You're on your way! :grin
Fierce Critter
Looked at your auctions, everything looks great. I'm afraid eBay is probably going to cancel your auction on the tiles, however, once they see it. You're not allowed to offer multiple items on a single bid. You'll probably either have to change that to a dutch auction, or offer ALL the tiles at one price.

If they take it down it is okay as i have two peopl who had bid on it and if it does get removed i will contact the bidders (on the side) to see if they are still intrested. That radar dector went for $180 :woot: way more then what i was wanting to get for it so i am very very happy. So far this has been a very positive experiance for me. So much i have been thinking about doing this on a reg basis, not such hard core like i am tryng right now but i plan to keep my eyes open at sales n things to see what i mght be able ot make a little extra cash off of. Maybe make vaction money once the bills are up to par. Lilith
