Fierce Critter
I remember that thread. Can anyone suggest a brand name/formula?
gothicmom
I cut my hair into a super cute 'A' cut. Sadly, I'm a sloucher. So the cute cut makes my neck/back look......uh...not so good. So I need to grow it out. I want it kind of like MsMaldoror's
daveblau
Or, at least, that "in between" stage does. Big time. I'm growing my hair out to 1 length, and trying for more length than I've ever had. But I don't know if I'm gonna make it. I'm going for a classic, medieval-maiden look, something like this: I think it's feasible - my hair has lots of natural wave, and should I be able to last that long, I think it'll come pretty close. But man, right now, it SUCKS. I can't do anything with it, it always looks like hell, and my top layer is somewhat damaged due to my dye/bleach fiasco last year. What to do? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Word, it takes forever, worst of all it grows out faster in the back. you kind of get a mullet if you dont cut your hair.Just take it one day at a time, I have faith in you! Im trying to grow my hair out like kellygrrl, but kind of a guy version, but my hair in the front is taking forever to grow out.
bean
I just bought vitamins today for hair, skin, and nails...my hair grows so damn slow. The chicky at the health food store recommended them: Futurebiotics Advanced Women's Formula Hair, Skin and Nails. I'll let you all know if it works or not. Fierce Critter
Thanks, BW. And I'll still gladly take recommendations from others who have used prenatal vitamins, which I hear work great. My hair actually started growing slowly a few years ago when I developed undiagnosed hypothyroidism. I'm on meds now, but my activity level needs to be upped to help jump-start a lethargic metabolism.
GlitzBatty
Two tips that might help: 1- got2b brand - "glued - styling spiking spray" in the yellow bottle will keep the "unevens" wherever you tell them to be. 2- Hot Topic is have a sale on hair accessories, I was just there tonight. I got into clips, barretts, scarfs, pigtails, pins etc when my hair was growing out, and found new styles that I still use. ^o^

I just picked up a bottle of that spray from, of all places, the grocery guy at the local flea market. Paid $1.00 for a brand-new bottle with a little scratch on the lable. I've used the got2b glued glue in a tube to combat unevens, and it even does a fine job on frizzies. I just got tired of having that kind of gooped-hair feeling, especially down here in NC where the humidity is oppressive. Nothing worse than the feeling of heavy, moist, sticky hair product on a 90 degree day. :doh Actually, I really liked my hair a couple years ago, when I went back to a multi-layered shag, with bangs. Suited my "punk" style VERY well, and was super-easy to style using that glue and hairspray. But it was all the product I had to use that made me sick of the style. I'm hoping that in growing my hair out long, I'll like not just the style, but hopefully a HEALTHY head of hair that doesn't require much product. I have a ton of hair "toys", barrettes, etc. I've just never used them much. I think I need to go through them, get rid of the crap that's really not my style, and invest in some new stuff. I'm thinking that's been one of the best suggestions here yet. I have a cute headband I got from HT 2 years ago, with plush cat ears. Yet to wear it, though that would have looked sweet with the shag 'do. If I go with the crimping (see my other thread), that might look cute.
