Seems cool / a large thing to organize.  Lot of moving parts.  I "organize" on and off a lot, but never something that elaborate.  Are you vollenteering for something or do you own/run it or... ?  Curious.   I assume you have been to this / these before?  How do they "feel"?  Some conventions feel very professional, others feel more home-grown, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on which end of the "homemade" they fall under.

I'm ADH for Guest Relations, so I help wrangle handlers, guests, and autograph lines. Event management is one of the highest voted jobs in terms of stress, and I can certainly understand why. But it's work that I really enjoy - It helps I work with some amazing individuals.

Yes, I've both worked and attended conventions a lot over the years. I started going to conventions in 2007 as an attendee, and started working them in 2014. I currently work at Midwest Media Expo, Youmacon, whatever other cons that comes up via The Intrigue Factory (a company I work for), and Colossalcon.

Depending on the con, there are different themes and attendance rates, and the bigger they get, the less homegrown they feel. Example: Youmacon is the first convention I ever went to, going on its 12th year, and it's grown into one of the bigger sized convention (I would have to look at numbers, but I think attendance is close to 10,000). It's anime themed, and takes place at the Ren Cen and Cobo in Detroit. Midwest Media Expo is a sister con to that, but is a Western media con and only in its 3rd year. As a result it's smaller and has less attendees (last year was around 3,000).
