Draco1958
I have been gone a long time. Something like 5 or 6 years. Wow does time fly. So I thought I should reintroduce myself. I go by Draco1958 here, my nickname I prefer to be called by is Draco and my real name is Bill. I picked up the nickname in the mid 80's. I used to collect the dragon figurines by Grenadiere used for D&D. Then I started collecting dragon statues and artwork. Friends started calling me dragon then it switched to draco. So I have using it since. I was pretty much a regular on the site and at the group meet ups at City Club. Some thing went down in my personal life so I took a break. Just didn't intend for it to be for so long. Most of my info on my profile hasn't changed. I did however try going back to school taking online classes for photography. Even though I have been taking photos for 30+ years I thought it wouldn't hurt to learn new things. In the process of that, I upgraded my camera equipment. Instead of using basic digital cameras I now have a Canon DSLR. I love working with the camera, especially with the manual settings. So for the basic info, I am living in Taylor now, I share a 3 bedroom apartment with a friend, his brother and mother. I have the basement so I am still a basement dweller (cue spooky music). I am still single, sadly. Working on getting disability due to back issues. We have 1 car right now and 2 people who have jobs so other than running errands or going to Heritage Park in Taylor, I can't get out as much as I would like to. Have to pick roommates up from work and their off work times sometimes vary. Right now most of my photo work is landscape, flowers and moon shots. Haven't had much chance for working with people as subjects but hoping that will change. I am still into Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Renaissance faires and costuming, camping, thunderstorms, Motor City Comic Con, Godzilla and getting out to the club when able. If anyone wants to know more, just ask. Always willing to chit chat (oh man I said chit chat) or hang out for coffee, talk about photography or whatever. Just let me know. I know long post but didn't say much but I never was any good at talking about myself. That's all for now. More to come when I figure out what and how I want to say things. Your break sort of co-insided with me dissapearing due to health issues and the board going to shit. lol. (My fault not yours) Good to see you again. There is a german company called Schleich that makes anatomically correct animal / soilder / other figures they branched out into making dragons, several of which I've been coveting for awhile http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=srs%3D2600173011%26search-alias%3Dspecialty-aps&field-keywords=dragon just thought of it due to you mentioning dragons. We have a regular gathering we started on a "normal" day , which seems to attract people that like just about everything you listed (posted in the nightlife section "The Gathering") hopefully you can make it to that at some point. Good to see you around after so long!
Draco1958
I have seen something like those figurines at either Meijer or Walmart. I want to collect all the different dragons. I hope to make it to a gathering. Will depend on roommates work schedules since to keep the car I have to pick them up at work. And that can be anytime after 10pm. Otherwise I would need a ride. My plans are to start being active here again. I hope you like the photos I posted. Edited March 27, 2016 by Draco1958

Good to see you around after so long! WELCOME BACK, DRACO! It's unusual for me to see someone with many of the same interests I have. I love your camera choice by the way. I was actually checking out the Sony line myself. I never went to school for photography but I've always loved taking photographs of everything since I was old enough to hold a camera. That's about as far as I will go on about me. Hope you enjoy hanging with DGN again. Troy, thank you for that link. I know it wasn't for me but I LOVE dragons. Always have. They are good stuff (this goes for you too draco). They are like field guides / encyclopedias written like as if dragons are an actual species in the wild to go study, TONS of pictures and such. I definitely know Trene does. She got me hooked on stories of "The Dragonriders of Pern" so when I saw their book of dragons, I had to get it for her and then there is the "Time Life" book of dragons. Troy Spiral (13)
I know there was a time life series on "supernatural" stuff, I didn't know there was one specifically on dragons. Yeah The Dragons of Pern... that was like serious shit when I was younger. A Song of Ice and Fire has sort of consumed my "fiction reading" time (and the associated backstory and spin-off books... and the merchandise... bleh being poor blows, need more GoT stuff!! lol)
