Probably will be a bit of a slowdown from 1130-12:00  (now) .   Not any huge changes that hardly anyone would notice , the key thing is more security updates and bug fixes.

Version 4.1.10 of the IPS Community Suite is now available.

This includes a security patch and we recommend you upgrade as soon as possible.

This is a maintenance release to fix reported issues and add refinement to existing features. In addition to bug fixes and performance improvements, it includes following new/changed features:

  • Instant notifications are now dismissible.
  • The sidebar has been added back to the stream pages.
  • You can now sort by most downloaded in Downloads app.
  • The ModeratorCP and AdminCP IP Address Tools now allow you to track the IP addresses used to vote in polls.
  • A new setting has been added to disable the RSS feed for activity streams.
  • A new setting has been added to specify the minimum display name length.
  • Adds a new "can unban" moderator permission separate to the "can edit profiles" permission being used previously.
  • IP addresses now show in reports.
  • There is now a constant-level setting to disable the ACP IP address check in case of being locked out of the ACP.
  • Several improvements to Commerce to make some features clearer: the Shipping Rates configuration pages now indicate to the admin if a potential mistake has been made, the front-end indicates to admins if no support departments have been set up, and the renewal settings wording has been clarified.

Nice to know that they are addressing certain complaints and/or issues, but trust me, I have noticed the majority of the "Not any huge changes that hardly anyone would notice" from previous tweaking. As someone who creates daily records and follows board statistics like a sport, the little changes keeps me having to come up with new ways to keep track of things.

I do hope this new upgrade will help the overall while maintaining ease of use, for nutcases such as myself, where the need for tracking details is a curse.

Yeah hopefully it won't make any of the actual "using of the board" stuff harder.  Most of it is "under the hood" type stuff.  They are planning on doing a fairly large user interface update (mostly for the mobile version) whenever the next "big update" happens but thats a long way off.

One key feature , that should I think already be part of the IPB software is "push" notifications to your computer or your phone.  They could be opted out of just like all notifications, but I know a lot of people just LIVE on the small part of the internet known as CatBook er.. Facebook and even though they might like to know about something new on DGN, there is nothing (but email) that actually "notifies" them of any of it.

Well that's a roadblock.   Did everything the way its always done, get to the last step... nothing.  Ignores me when I hit "continue" to finish the update.   Bleh.   Putting in a ticket.  (which can take forever with install related issues, if they can't just tell me what to do, and have to do it for us, the wait time is like a week almost every time.)
