I'm thinking the current cards are the best.     The Original ones I'm only aware of the existence of a very few of them.  The second gen ones were considered sort of shitty and (somewhere) burried there are I think, a lot of them.

i still have a bunch of the original ones, but in red, not purple (might have some purple too!?). if i ever get back over there, i'll try to remember to bring them...

Holy crap... yeah, there actually was a "generation two" of that first one , or lets call it  1.2.  since it was the same card , but just a different color since DGN switched from black & purple to Black & Red.

Could you maybe just take a good picture of both sides?  I totally forgot about that, I didn't get many of those made.

Honestly I like the font in the first one the best.  The most recent seems a bit cartoonish but I can see some people saying that about the first font too.

Second is my second favorite simply because it's green and the easiest to read with a simple font.  So good for maximum visibility.

I guess ideally it's nice to have the card highly visible so when you're handing it out someone else might see it and clearly see the URL, or just ask what it is and if they can have one too.

Woo, marketing!

The green text one seemed to get the least favorable responses.   The red one seems to have gotten the most.   The  "Gothic Font" card seems to be the favorite of lets call it "regulars" which,  are typically already here.   /ponders.   Plus there's the money issue, there still are green text ones and red cards (somewhere)  the "Blackletter Gothic" (thats the name of the font) ones don't really exist anymore at least I haven't seen any in ages except for one or two just laying around.   Hrmm.  Crazy... actual paper handouts as promotion.  XD

Green might be the least favorite, but it is the most readable at a distance.

Also a fun note, green is the easiest color on the eyes (which is why you often see it on the underbrim of baseball caps.)

Although that's just my two cents.  It's also not like we can't have more printed up.  Actually I know a guy who could get you a GREAT deal, and so do you probably.  Moondancer works for a printing/sign company.

Also he could even design something for you too if you wanted.

Kind offer. Buddy of mine is co-owner of a custom sign company known him since high school he and I got into this whole 'goth/industrial  (now more EBM I guess)' thing together back in the day. I don't think they do cards though.

I think anything 'gothy' however it's done will seem cheesy to some people. The severe first card could come off as taking itself so seriously that it's funny to some. The most recent one I think is meant to be a little funny so if hoped it would come off as 'not taking itself seriously... in a bad way to some. I think we are screwed with certain people no matter what we do.

I am hoping to feature that bat guy more prominently (pretty much everywere) as sort of the DGN logo. So he sort of means 'detroitgothic.net' without screaming it since it's just an image. STILL don't have a solidified name for him. I've been going with 'DeeGee' so  a play on the DGN in DGN. Sounds a bit girly, but that's the market that we need more anyway, the sausages come much easier and go where the girls go anyway. (To a point)
