32711 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184 <--- Directions via Google

7:30 Thursday, May 19th

Really Big Sign Hard to miss.

A casual dinner time gathering in a "denny's like" environment.

Club Attire Encouraged but not Required

Fashion Models, Goths, DGNers, Ex DGNers Re-Goths, Goths for a day, Horror Movie and Sci Fi (especially SW, ST, BSG and GoT ofc fans.) MTG players. Ingressers. The spiritually inclined, Science & History buffs. General weirdos.

Totally normal open minded people.

All welcome.

Like all DGN events this is NOT particularly kid friendly*.

Hope to see you there! Please invite any and all you think might be REMOTELY  interested!

Bring a good attitude! Please help Invite! If you want a card ask!  If you really want one ask here in this topic.

*like DGN itself , this is not "kid friendly". You can bring them but No F-Bombs will be held back.  No sexual innuendos (or straight up sex talk) will be spared.  If you can't get a sitter and your kids are not SUPER well behaved leave them in a kennel at home with food & water.

This is NOT the place to post about how you're going somewhere else , or doing something else or intentionally not coming or some other BS.  Thanks.

That being said, Please help us get the word out!

If you would like one of our weekly "The Gathering" cards.  Ask in person at The Red Apple <--- key step.

***If you really want to make sure you get one. Just ask here (not in the FB page, that will be futile) and make sure you show up before me.   Some time after I walk in the door and whoever has asked for a card (here) has priority. ****

There are five "limited edition" cards and some number of extras.  When I get there , whoever has posted here again, has priority on them.

 Looking forward to seeing you!

Ran out of the "limited" cards for the first time.  A more precise way to hand them out I think is (as above but a bit more detailed)

Priority goes like this:

1.  Ask at the gathering for a card (first come first serve)

2. If your name is not in this topic I'll hold off until someone whos name IS in this topic asks for a card.

This way it encourages people to post here , and to get to the gathering both.  Which is basicly the same way as its always been but a little bit more precise.

Yay!

I'm thinking about making "Core Member" cards,  something like 500 posts + people actually wanting one + whatever I say it is to qualify.  Not sure.

Ut oh... there are only 5 limited cards... and four people have already requested one (In the proper place) aka here. That means Jen or Sommer better post quick. Hah. (or post and then ASK first)   Longer term the idea is that the limited cards would be 1 to 5.  That is for every 5 limited cards there would be 25 non-numbered cards... so we have a long, long way to go before the limited cards go above 5.  (Plus that would be a pain in the ass to make 30 cards every week, need to somehow fund that if it ever happens)  Not sure if that made any sense.

Came Up with a series of  equations:

Post Request + Permanent Benefactor = I will save you one until it looks like you just aren't coming.

Post Request + Ask First at the Gathering = Priority #1 spot

Post Request + Ask later at the gathering = Top Priority

Post Request + Don't ask (but are actually at the gathering) =  You get one (probably) before anyone else below. I'll just try and remind you if there are any left.

Ask at The Gathering =  Get one if there are any left.

Don't Post + Don't Ask = You might get one anyway if I have any left. (Not expecting this to happen much anymore)

I will be there and looks like I was late to the card requesting party...I would like #2, but any card will do.  I will, however, probably be one of the first to arrive. :-) Looking forward to tomorrow night as always- good company and conversations! :-)

I think if you look at the "new way" it works, Request + ask you might be ahead of other people who get there later.

So if I read this correctly, for people who post a request, it becomes first asked first serve? But I assume that means there will be enough cards for all who posted a request regardless of when they verbally make a request as The Gathering...correct?

It seems a little off to me that someone who jumped on the bandwagon to post here right after the thread was started, but had car trouble, or left late because people were eating up the toilet paper, or got a ticket while speeding to the restaurant (because they live an hour away) arrives just to find that someone who posted after them, but requested before them, got a card.

I'm Just sayin'...

I'm open to changing it, it just seems like the effort to ask for a card on here , while good and encouraged is not as much effort as it takes to ask in real life, and takes even more effort to ask in both places...

So asking in both makes someone higher Priority, but thinking bigger picture the goal is to get everyone down there plus asking in real life takes a bit more effort.

Thus I tried to think of the fairest way to do it.

> So if we ever end up with a lot of 'ask both here and in real life' people, the asking in real life would seem (if they did both) like the more challenging of the two and have slightly more 'weight' if the two are compared (but both are important). That seems fairly logical to me. I'm trying to balance ideas. <

There is a third part though that I'm just now pondering is the balance between not wanting to alienate newer people but having some (mild) bias toward longtime supporters of DGN (the part about just holding one for permanent benefactors (a.k.a TronRP) is my first stab at that. But this one is a harder concept than ever the above, because taken (too) far it would alienate newer people.

I'might trying to have as little drama and a fair a system as possible.

This isn't set in stone at all but I did think about it a lot.
