Cousin Died And No One Seem To Care

Recommended Posts

I found out my estranged cousin died. There was no funeral and no obituary that I can find. He just died and was cremated simple as that.  I was not close to him. In fact I hardly knew him. He had a history of being involved in selling drugs and not the kind of person I would want in my life.  But it saddens me to think that he died and no one seems to care. I found his Facebook page and none of his Facebook friends have wrote anything on his page concerning his death. No RIPS, no You Will Be Missed, just nothing. It is has if his life had no meaning. While I can understand being unable to afford a funeral. It seems like some kind of memorial service could had been done. But it seems they just took his body and cremated it and that was that.  Like I said I did not really know him. What kind of person he was and if he was still into drugs or trying to make things right. Still it is sad to think that he was just forgotten.

I find that when things happen like this, there were circumstances about the person's passing that needed investigation causing people to hold off on displays of the grieving process until certain details have been sorted out.

An incident happened next to us, and instead of people coming together to remember the 16 year old, it almost turned into a violent mob of angry family, friends, and acquaintances from both sides of the situation. There were nearly 150 people on the corner where the incident occurred and spreading down the street into my sister's yard before they had to be removed and escorted away by police. It then took another 2 weeks before anyone did anything in memorandum of the teen's passing due to threats and sabotage from those who knew the accused.

Not saying this is the same situation with your cousin. It is just that there are many things that make no sense from the outside, but once you scratch the surface, you sometimes get more than you bargained for. You just never truly know.

Its sad :(

My dad died , but we had too little money to have a funeral really or even rent a place to have little sort of "memorial get together" which what I was hoping.  Cremated... got a few random condolences. Done.   Only in my mind and my mom's mind does he seem to really still exist.   Almost seems like some sort of just built in human nature.  "Life is for the Living" and sadly that is taken to the extreme in some cases where it's not even much acknowledged that someone passed.   (Same thing happend with my aunt) :(

I hope this isn't dragging you down too much.  *random hug*

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.
