Maureen Falcon
I'm new here.. but Gathering Thursday will interfere with Thanksgiving ( Thursday, November 24 ) So I guess I'm asking what is protocol? Just curious, Moe
Maureen Falcon
Sol, in any case, I probably can't go that day,
Scary Guy
Goth family > regular family, however I'm sure many have plans and I'm assuming we'll just skip that week. Maybe I can DJ at City or something. Just staying in and sleeping is also an option. Also, barbecue chicken pizza is a thing, why not turkey? Or steak for that matter! Troy Spiral (13)
I'm just going to call it for thanksgiving. I know a few people probably have nothing to do that day but so many will that it will be fairly pointless. As an aside (ill repeat this in the thread itself) the "top posters for the month" cards would normally be calculated sometime before that day, ill probably just wait until the 29th or 30th and then give them out at the next gathering. Scary Guy
That said I'm now derailing this thread. If others have nothing to do I'm open for getting together and going out in some sort of anti-thanksgiving thing. Post here and let me know. Also, not sure what we have to be thankful for this year anyway. http://www.reddit.com/r/fuck2016 Edited November 9, 2016 by Scary Guy
TronRP
I'm not sure about anyone else, but our families view Thanksgiving as a celebration of us still being here. Half of our family were slaves brought to America on Clipper Ships and the other half are Tribal Americans. Also, since Trene's birthday is right at Thanksgiving, we celebrate every year she has survived since her accident as "Victory Years". But that's just our family view.
