A casual dinner time gathering in a "Denny's like" environment. 

Club Attire Encouraged but not Required

GLBT, Fashion Models, Cosplayers  Goths, DGNers, Ex DGNers Re-Goths, Goths for a day, Horror Movie and Sci Fi (especially SW, ST, BSG and GoT ofc fans.) MTG players. Ingressers.

The spiritually inclined, Science & History buffs. General weirdos.

Totally normal open minded people.

Like all DGN events this is NOT particularly kid friendly*.

*like DGN itself , this is not "kid friendly". You can bring them but No F-Bombs will be held back.  No sexual innuendos (or straight up sex talk) will be spared.  If you can't get a sitter and your kids are not SUPER well behaved leave them in a kennel at home with food & water. 

 

This is NOT the place to post about how you're going somewhere else , or doing something else or intentionally not coming or some other BS.  Thanks.

If you would like one of our weekly "The Gathering" cards (Some Examples). Ask in person at The Red Apple <--- key step. 

 

*If you really want to make sure you get one. Just ask here (not in the FB page, that will be futile) and make sure you show up before me.   Some time after I walk in the door and whoever has asked for a card (here) has priority. **

 

 

 

Cards Fine Print

**If for some reason there are not enough cards to go around  (There are typically only 7)

1.  Ask at the gathering for a card (first come first serve, with the below exceptions)

2. If your name is not in this topic I'll hold off until someone  who does have their name IS in this topic asks for a card. 

3. Asking in this topic means you have priority over someone who has not, everyone that asks here (should) get one before someone who has not.

4. I'll hold one for Permanent Benefactors until its clear the aren't coming if they've asked here.  (If you are unsure what this is don't worry about it or have a look here)

5.  If you've asked here , just ask at the gathering and you should get a card with no problem. 

6.  The order in which you ask here is vaguely "sooner you ask the higher priority" but is very hard to keep track of

 first come first serve unless there is somehow a "tie" asking at the gathering, then the order you ask here would break that tie. 

 

Hopefully none of the above will be super necessary and there will never be any drama over the theoretically "for fun" cards.  (there never has been)      But please request a card HERE if you want one.

Ok so... cards.

Unfortunately the people that need to read this won't, and the people that don't will, for the most part, but at least its out there.  

 

If people take the 2 minutes or less to ask.   Please just ask for yourself.  The cards aren't rocket science, and I do mildly enjoy making them, but they do take effort, they have some value, the "cost" of a card is asking here and showing up to pick one up at the gathering.   There should never be a shortage of cards at the gathering unless I screw up. If people didn't ask here, and don't get one, that isn't a shortage.  

If there are any left over , of the people that didn't ask here can get one, but that is a precarious "if"  depending on the week.

I swear to god we are going to be short on cards again I can feel it.  But if its too hard to ask for a card then its to hard for me to make them.  Maybe should just chuck the whole idea.

Maybe if you put a sticky on the ones people have requested then you will only be able to give out the exact number of the ones that were requested so no requestees are missed.

I want a card. I expect to be there. 

I like @TronRP' idea. Put a post-it on each one to note who it is made for. Then if they dont show by a certain time, givie them to someone else who asks at the gathering.

Plus, always make a minimum of 2 extra.

Yes, put a sticky on each one and go from there. I always try and make sure I post here.. I do have 2 top 7 cards as it is.. I collect stuff to fill the black chasm that once held my heart. Mostly sentimental stuff that only makes sense to me.

I do make extra , have  every week since we started.  But I'm not going to make more than whats left over on a sheet of 8 if people haven't bothered to ask.   I'm ready to walk out the door but I'm working on cards since the total here is exactly 8 now (post at least a day ahead of time please! Again, not that the people this post is relevant to are going to even bother to read it.  The two key people that read this post that I mainly meant i t for still haven't  posted. Just to be nice I'm making more as I know at least one person still after 3 different posts re-iterating the "ask or fuck off" including here and  FB is going to freakin cry if they don't get a card.   

But i'm serious.   At some point here I'm just not going to make more than are whats asked for.   Also the numbered 1-5 cards are an issue as some people have a specific number that is sort of "theres" but how to make that fair I don't know.  Right now I'm just giving them to the same people  IF THEY BOTHER TO ASK...  right now it isn't an issue but i can see it becoming one as I have a clearly laid out system. Ok I'm getting a bit rambly , not feeling well and have to stop typing to finish the ... more cards (was done last night , which has been the system since TG1.

The sticky note idea is an interesting one.  But "who i made this specific card for" is a bit hard since , if i followed the actual rules that would be "in order that they asked"  (Except for Tron due to her being a lifetime benefactor).  ok stop typing! gah.  days neeed to be 30 hours long.  lol

I'm home tonight. Had to deal with some stuff, however I have a suggestion regarding the card situation.  I think instead of giving the cards out for the actual night of each weekly gathering that the person attends, say tonight for example, maybe start giving the cards out the week following for the week prior. So instead of saying who wants a card in advance you will know who attended  and who gets a card, and than you have it ready for the following week.  This also encourages people who are getting the cards to come again so they can get the card for the previous week,  and so than the card for the current week at the next gathering.  Like a week in the hole how bosses role. That way too, you don't waste your resources pre-gathering the cards nor do you have the extra stressing over it. 

This can be like role call here as it has been. 

Just an idea. No need to sweat it just enjoy your time.

I'm not going to make it.  Roommate just called, he's going to be at least another hour before he gets home.  Won't be worth coming out just to get there in time to say bye as everyone pretty much starts leaving.

 Interesting idea.  Seems like it would work , but actually doing it seems complicated.  I'd have to write everyone's name down that came, plus I'm AWESOME at losing paperwork or counting wronog.  I already messs up sometimes on this system we have now.  If someone has a brain upgrade for me that'd be great, the psychatrists sure suck at doing that.  lol

Was sorry to see this. Kept hoping to see ya.  But there is what we want and then there is that "life" bulllshit.   heh
