(Note: I may be watching a decent amount of kids/family films in coming weeks, as I realized there are some I haven't thought to hunt-out and see, yet might enjoy. So some of these reviews are going to be about older films.)

I have to say that I really enjoyed this film. Lilo is probably going to take a seat amongst my favorite Disney film characters. That's saying a lot, since I grew up with Disney being staple & plentiful in my life, from the early 70's on. So I kinda come from a purist view of things Disney, and don't often like the "new" films having come out after the 70's.

Lilo is, to me, just delightful. I don't like some of the interaction between her and her sister - the typical Disney conflict that must be, I guess - but otherwise, loved her characteristics.

Some of the plot is silly, sure. But this IS mainly a kids' movie, and kids don't need a ton of plot to enjoy a cartoon.

For adults, the humor is decent. Stitch in particular, with some of his antics being more likely to pull a smile out of an adult than a child.

As for overall mood - well, is there ANY Disney film that DOESN'T include the deaths (often offscreen) of parents, and related troubles? There is a decently drawn-out series of tearjerker moments that might turn some off. (I am an EASY cryer at sad cartoons, and this one had my tear-brakes going almost obnoxiously heavy at times.)

Recommended for children and only mildly critical adults.

Extras are plentiful, including a really nice live-action explanation of hula dancing moves, a history/encyclopedia of the Hawaiian islands, an annoying and (IMHO) stupid blending of Stitch with Disney history bit.

One major, major complaint: Disney tacks on an insane number of previews of other Disney movies & related crud at the beginning of the film. Shameful, and can be mood-wrecking, particularly if you're already Anti-Mouse.
