The Gathering 51 at The Red Apple Restaurant & Inn

7:30 Thursday, March 2nd.

Really Big Sign Hard to miss.  

 

 

 

A casual dinner time gathering in a "Denny's like" environment. 

Club Attire Encouraged but not Required

GLBT, Fashion Models, Cosplayers  Goths, DGNers, Ex DGNers Re-Goths, Goths for a day, Horror Movie and Sci Fi (especially SW, ST, BSG and GoT ofc fans.) MTG players. Ingressers.

The spiritually inclined, Science & History buffs. General weirdos.

Totally normal open minded people. 

All welcome. 

Like all DGN events this is NOT particularly kid friendly*.

*like DGN itself , this is not "kid friendly". You can bring them but No F-Bombs will be held back.  No sexual innuendos (or straight up sex talk) will be spared.  If you can't get a sitter and your kids are not SUPER well behaved leave them in a kennel at home with food & water. 

 

This is NOT the place to post about how you're going somewhere else , or doing something else or intentionally not coming or some other BS.  Thanks.

If you would like one of our weekly "The Gathering" cards. Ask in person at The Red Apple <--- key step. 

 

*If you really want to make sure you get one. Just ask here (not in the FB page, that will be futile) and make sure you show up before me.   Some time after I walk in the door and whoever has asked for a card (here) has priority. **

 

 

 

Cards Fine Print

**If for some reason there are not enough cards to go around  (There are typically only 7)

1.  Ask at the gathering for a card (first come first serve, with the below exceptions)

2. If your name is not in this topic I'll hold off until someone  who does have their name IS in this topic asks for a card. 

3. Asking in this topic means you have priority over someone who has not, everyone that asks here (should) get one before someone who has not.

4. I'll hold one for Permanent Benefactors until its clear the aren't coming if they've asked here.  (If you are unsure what this is don't worry about it or have a look here)

5.  If you've asked here , just ask at the gathering and you should get a card with no problem. 

6.  The order in which you ask here is vaguely "sooner you ask the higher priority" but is very hard to keep track of.  If you wait until less than 24 hours before the event you risk not getting a card.

I make one for everyone that asks here. +2 extra typically but not always the extras vary.

No one owns (except Permanent Benefactors) a particular card. Hopefully if you slacked off or there is a screw up you can just trade for a particular card if you end up not getting it the one you wanted.'

 

Corporate summary:  Take the whole 2 minutes and ask. If it's not worth two minutes, you don't really want one.which is fine.

Hopefully none of the above will be super necessary and there will never be any drama over the theoretically "for fun" cards.  (there never has been)   :)   But please request a card HERE if you want one.

Me and the Monchichis will be there.  I am requesting a card please.  Last week was too much fun, but I have to keep in mind that I've got to get the little ones to bed at a reasonable time.  So no more "after midnight" stays until Summer Vacation...

Once the kids are on vacation we should have another night where we all bring our kids. I know mine had fun.

We bring them more business than they typically have on a Thursday night, so I don't think they mind. So long as we keep the kids in our area and not let them turn into little lunatics lol.

Good to hear many are comming. Hope to see you there.

No DGN events is particularly kid friendly. The Gathering doesn't have a 'no kids' rule, but if you do bring them you need to keep them in line and no 'adult talk' will be a hushed around the kids if it is I'll be really annoyed. One of the main Ideas is an adults night out.

The 'play date' is not here.Read the event description about kids which has only changed slightly since day 1.

Having said that I've not had or know about any kids problems at all so far :)

Well as far as the kid thing goes, I prefer to avoid.  If people want to bring their kids I have no problems, just let me know first.  Certain long-going ones are fine because they are well behaved.  But still, if I can avoid it I try to.

Was good seeing everyone, even though I was late because I:

A. Woke up late

B. Had to pick up friends

C. Got out of the house just in time to catch the small but annoying snow storm on the last leg of the trip.

Ran out of the house so fast I forgot to put cash in my wallet.  Thanks Jenn for loaning me gas money and Tron for grabbing my bill.

After I dropped Ronnie off at her friend's place, me and Bre went to the UFO Bar to see Marc spin records for his event Produkt313.  Was a great time, though it's only once a month.

Looking forward to next week when hopefully I'll have my shit together more.

I bring the minions only when It is a "take them or you're grounded." thing. Everyone knows my motto. "I do what I want." If a 4 foot nothing parasite dictates my life, I have failed. As I don't fail, there is a work around.

There is no 4 letter word they haven't heard and I am straight with them.

Little man mused aloud today on a film sequence of childbirth.. "I get how they come out.. I get that babies start as eggs..my question is, how do they get in there?" His autistic older sister rolled her eyes. "duh?! When a girl gets old enough, she can grow the baby." Still confused, her brother asked if grown ups had to "swallow them or something?!" Boy is he in for a shock when he gets that mindblowing 'health class'.

He gets and agrees that people love who they do. I feel sorry for the teacher who has to address the concept of LGBTQ relations. My boy will demand answers. :rofl:
