If god is all powerful he gets the blame as well as the credit. If the blame belongs somewere else its because like a poor all-powerful all-knowing parent blames his creations for intentionally setting up a system of things he knows we will fail at ahead of time. 

Worse, created us child beings for the primary pourpse of glorifying him that is supposedly perfect and should be beyond such disgusting  petty needs.

Thanking him for relief of something he allowed, is and always was a logical falacy. Sad that we thank him for small favors and let him slide on monstrous irredeemably historical and personal crimes. He created Satan, free will and all the evil that comes with that. There is no loophole that will get him off the moral hook. Most fightening being in all fiction.
