A casual dinner time gathering in a "Denny's like" environment. 

Club Attire Encouraged but not Required

GLBT, Fashion Models, Cosplayers, Goths, DGNers, Ex DGNers, Re-Goths, Goths for a day, the Spiritually Inclined, General weirdos, Totally normal open-minded people.

Horror, Movie and Sci Fi buffs (especially SW, ST, BSG and GoT ofc fans.), MTG players, Ingressers, Science & History buffs.

Like all DGN events, this is NOT particularly kid friendly*.

*like DGN itself, this is not "kid friendly".  You can bring them but No F-Bombs will be held back.  No sexual innuendos (or straight up sex talk) will be spared.  If you can't get a sitter and your kids are not SUPER well behaved leave them in a kennel at home with food & water.

If you would like one of our weekly "The Gathering" cards (Some Examples). Ask in person at The Red Apple <--- key step. 

*If you really want to make sure you get one, just ask here (not in the FB page, that will be futile).  Whoever has asked for a card (here) has priority. **

 

Cards Fine Print

**If for some reason there are not enough cards to go around  (There are typically only 7)

Note:  Ask at The Gathering for a card (first come first serve, with the following exceptions)

1. Asking in this topic means you have priority over someone who has not requested a card.  Everyone that asks here (should) get one before someone who has not asked in this topic.
2. If your name is not in this topic you will not receive a card at The Gathering until those listed here have asked and received a card at the restaurant. 
3. Cards for Permanent Benefactors will be held until it's clear they aren't coming provided they've already asked here.  (If you are unsure what this is don't worry about it or have a look here)
4. If you've asked here, just ask at the gathering and you should get a card with no problem. 
5. The order in which you ask here is vaguely "the sooner you ask the higher the priority" but it is very hard to keep track of.  If you wait until less than 24 hours before the event you risk not getting a card.

 

One card is made for everyone that asks here +2 extra (typically but not always as the extras may vary).

No one except Permanent Benefactors own a particular card number.  If you slacked off or there is a screw up with you getting the card number you wanted, hopefully, you can just trade for a particular card hasslefree.

 

Corporate summary:  Take the whole 2 minutes and ask. If it's not worth two minutes, you don't really want one.

 

It is hopeful that none of the above will be necessary as everyone who wants a card IS GOING TO SAY THEY WANT A CARD HERE RIGHT?  lol

 

Hopefully none of the above will be super necessary and there will never be any drama over the theoretically "for fun" cards.  (there never has been)      But please request a card HERE if you want one.

WARNING: Absurd Behavior Alert

Given last Thursday's events at The Red Apple, certain DGNers were informed that a complaint of "absurd behavior" was filed with management and a pending investigation of review of their surveillance tapes to determine the turn of events that led to two customers walking out.

So apparently, we are not allowed to:

 

• Speak too loudly in a public space
• Mention Calculus
• Talk to kids about balancing checkbooks
• Discuss games played on a smartphone
• Make a child mind his manners
• Say White if you are Black
• Say Black if you are White
• Touch another person's hair
• Stand up and talk
• Give someone more than one hug

Please note, you have been warned...so now back to our regularly scheduled activity.

I don't think it would have mattered.  That couple arrived as Frank and Sommer were leaving around 10:40pm.  They sat on the other side of the divide, across from were Me, Trene and the Monchichis were and stared at us off and on the entire time as I stood and said goodbye to everyone.  The female kept looking over at Trene and me, shaking her head and then would say something to the man who accompanied her.  By 11pm Oz and Jena were leaving.  The couple still had not ordered and sat there watching Oz talk to CJ about Calculus and how much he hated it and how he didn't need it to balance a checkbook.  Jena and Trene were showing off their gameplay rankings on their phones when I commented on Jena's new haircut.  She mentioned how she noticed Black people like to play with it being that short.  I told her why and had her touch CJ's hair to show her the difference.  At that point, the lady, sitting with the guy, roll her eyes and stared at me.  I thought she was about to say something so I waited to listen.  Instead, she looked at Trene, said something to the guy with her, they packed their stuff and watched me hug Oz and Jena one last time as they slowly started to walk away, at which time, the couple got up and walked out of the section.

I honestly thought they had decided to change seats to upfront because no one had served them yet.  After Oz and Jena departed, Tameka walked over to let us know a complaint of absurd behavior had just been filed by a couple that was leaving.  I knew exactly who she was talking about.  They didn't say anything until they thought Me, Trene and the Monchichis were the only ones left (you know, all the Black folks).  They obviously had no idea Moe, Stu and Oz and Jena's friend...I think he name is Gary were with us because they were sitting in a different area 2 tables over from us.

Still workin' on these. Apparently I don't need sleep. But I've had this in the works since december (bought the 'stuff' with the money I made in December not realizing it wasn't  going to happen again. Grrr.  Not that more than like 7 people will care... U might not qualify anyway. Not yet. Showing appreciation in some way I can afford and is not just 'thoughts'' is a thing for me. Wish my blood sugar would stfu lol
