YouTube Clickbait!!!

Recommended Posts

OK...they got me again.  I was so looking for where that thumbnail photo was from and it turns out that it's not even part of the lineup. 😒 However, the ones they spotlight are pretty up there.  The last one, however, is rather confusing the way they show it compared to how they showcased the other 14.

@NocteSpiritus

You should totally post your videos in the "I did a thing" thread because I don't think of DGN stuff as "Clickbait" due to the fact that these are the videos we want to get views.  Granted, this is only a suggestion.

Oh, I already posted the video into my "I did a thing" thread.

OK...also, it's just that the opening post said to show those videos that waste your time.  So I just wanted to make sure you didn't think your videos were wasting anyone's time. 😊

 Good. I'm still kinda pissed that I didn't get my side of when I may have spoiled The Walking Dead for Troy. Cuz the clip of SPN blooper of "You told her" was supposed to have been there.

Yeah, now that made for good Clickbait, because I was still waiting for the "spoiler" information Troy kept hinting at...I felt cheated.  :hrhr:

lol I think with a few more recordings, and using pieces from videos related to SPN (actual episodes, gag reels, or video taken at convention panels), I could actual start making "episodes" and put vlogs out like that. it might work.

Don't put any SPN (that isn't actually an acronym right? Just a short way of saying supernatural?) spoilers in them!  Gah!  I've not started yet (have to finish game of thrones and catch up on star trek then supernatural is next).  *shakes fist at you evil spoilers*   That is actually a good piece of drama storytelling wise or it could be "connective tissue" across a few stories.  Sort of like running elements that recur in a 'show' but aren't the core idea of the show, they just add an interesting element.  Like... oh god what is she going to spoil this week?  Or... Ok im  STILL miffed about that walking dead spoiler!! RAWR!!  lol (not really).

I really did enjoy seeing the gathering from a different angle and hearing stuff i TOTALLY never heard when I was there.     I feel like i know that particular gathering like the back of my hand at this point.

I can picture a situation where multiple angles of the same thing and multiple "takes" on it could be really interesting.  It wouldn't have a super wide appeal BUT you don't need that.  What you need is a small/moderate sized audience that is very engaged.  Which , crazy specific things like that get.

SPN is just a shorter way of typing/saying Supernatural. I'm waiting for all of season 8 for GOT to be released before I use my Amazon prime trial to watch those. It'll be something to think about if I do a test run of the connective vlogs/videos. I'm upset that I hadn't been recording from my side of the TWD bit. ... *thought pops into head* haha. There's the trauma for ya. The Walking Dead spoiler.

I will do my best in not giving away too much with SPN spoilers. The first clip pieces of "The Trauma" were from a convention panel held in Rome where they were telling the train story of how Jared stopped all the trains in Europe.

The "You told her", and the "why not/no such thing" are from bloopers (pretty sure from season one). And the last bit of the woman asking the guys (Jared, Jensen, Misha, Mark) what they're proud off is from Nerd HQ during SDCC.

I think part of my vlogs/recordings is that I'll stay with one conversation for a short time even when listening to what's going on at the next table. Eventually I'll pan around to table 2 and stay with them for a short time. It's tough trying to get multiple angles of the same scene when 1. you're the only camera operator 2. there's stuff in the way. 3. people get that judgey stare.

Getting multiple angles worked once and that was at the after party for the Marche de Nain Rouge where I had the room to circle around the fight. And my body seems to active interdependent for times like that when recording. My main focus was on the fight, but I was aware of what's around me, my hips were on a swivel (so to speak), being able to lean in/out of the fight/fighters, and rolling my feet (marching band days).

I have been randomly stuck watching my older videos (and I've watched jessie's video there 3 times).  But with me I am trying to (slowly IT TAKES FOREVER) go through my videos and try and weed out any personal info that is in them (and in the descriptions).  When you have 90 of the dang things to comb through its like zzzzzzzzz.

Lately I've been stuck watching mostly:

1. Youtube Creator "advice" videos
2.  BDSM videos

3.  Political stuff

4.  Science / History things

5.  Self-help / motivation type videos.

I used to bing the hell out of funny stuff, but being so short on time some of my "fluff" has been falling by the wayside.

Recently a guy I watch regularly who is "straight" as hell, that is like very family friendly and has no real "edge" to him Brian G. Johnson  who just does youtuber advice  videos about content and the tech of youtube.  But one of his subscribers made a "Rap Dis Video" aka let's make a rap song that basically insults a person and it was pointed at Brian G.  who (apparently) the guy had learned a lot from and grew his channel largely with Brian's advice.

The video itself is playful and not mean spirited.  But just today (i think) brian G made his OWN rap dis video and it KILLS.  But it would only fully make sense to people that are into the youtube creator guys.   I've watched both videos like 5 times.   I can't picture it being of much interest to random viewers.

This girl here is really polite and never says anything that wouldn't pass a PG13 test yet covers BDSM stuff she really seems like a nice person and after you watch THIRTY OF THE DANG THINGS....  she's like a rare example of a "classic" submissive.  No swearing ever as far as I can tell and shes so careful about how she words things.   Sometimes i think JUST SAY IT... you don't have to start everything with "ok i know some people think this and some people think that and other people don't agree but let me try and explain....".   It's really good for newbies though.

I sat through a livestream called "KINKFEST and ANIME"  haha.  /tronbaitmode on   there isn't any real "sex" talk per se.  Which surprisingly is common.

One guy I DO watch a lot is "Oversimplified"  he does these animations where he takes some subject, usually academic like "The Revolutionary War -  OVERSIMPLIFIED"  and he does the whole thing in one video with his hand drawn cartoons.   They are interesting and usually funny.

Oh my goodness, I just finished watching "Three Kingdoms - Oversimplified" and it is literally the telling of one of my favorite PS2 games "Dynasty Warriors 2".  My favorite character to play was Zhao Yun.  I was actually able to follow the entire storytelling because of a videogame.

🤣
