I'm thinking about semi formal goth attire and how that relates to my body?

I was hoping people weren't thinking I was laughing at you regarding this.  It's just that I suddenly had a vision of you standing in a full length boutique mirror, comparing an Elvira dress to a Morticia Addams, holding them up to your body, trying to determine which one provided the most coverage.

:rofl:

Sorry, my goofball kicked in...

Half the time it just reminds me they aren't around anymore.  Also there's a birthday box in the lower right hand corner anyway.

Not to mention who even uses their real birthday on social media?  I'm pretty sure mine is set to some fake date anyway (but it's still around my real age.)

I mean in this day and age where all you need is a name, birth date, SSN, and maybe a few other optional pieces of info you can steal anyone's identity.  People don't guard their privacy as closely as they should.

~~~~~
And yes, it is true.  I do use the birthday box in the corner...it cracks me up that there are 150 year old members on this site, but if this is how they choose to spend their time, bless 'em.
However, you did make a post on your actual birthday a little while back, but I didn't make a big to do about it due to the reason you posted above regarding the ID thieving.
:biggrin:
I'm thinking that whenever I reply to someone that's what I'm thinking so I'm technically still following the rules of the thread.  That makes this my favorite thread of this type.
The beauty of this thread is that a thought IS what you are thinking at the time you had the thought to post about the thought you were thinking.
Yeah, I probably don't guard it as closely as I should either but it is a way to guilt "friends*" into coming to see me and maybe have fun, since the only time I ever mention it is when I'm doing a club night and people are Pavloved into "oh, it's his birthday, I should go say hello."
Hurray marketing!
*if the only time I see friends is on my birthday then they aren't very good friends either.
Oh no, please goof away! I love it. I found a dress, my hips are incompatible with said dress so I'm going to probably end up in something I already have 😉
Speaking of birthdays,  my mom's is tomorrow.  She's going to be 63. I keep telling her she's still young especially when I'm 44. That sounds weird.
Good for her, but spend as much time with her as you can.  Maybe she lives to be 80/90.
Mine did not :(
I'm sorry. Hugs. I think about that alot too, that's definitely why I cannot hold things against her. I wiped my childhood shit away because we only get one mother. I don't care what kind of lifestyle we had or what happened when she's gone I know it's final. We can repair trauma but we can't repair relationships once they leave this world. I cherish everything and focus on the things that are important and positive with my mom.
I am getting emotional. I apologize.
I was doing birthday posts for members, but I started getting DMed that some of them were no longer active on the board so I slowly started pulling back on making people have to come to the board to check in.  Therefore, I limited it to if the member was active that year, then I made them a birthday post and sent a "LINK".
I know a lot of "situations" went down on the forum and I didn't want to cause people to feel like I was making them relive anything.
But yes, it is something I like doing, especially for those who were here before me.
:biggrin:
I appreciate every single one even if I didn’t say anything and missed it cuz missing the alerts. ♥️
Soliloquy is a word I learned recently. It was in a song lyric and I looked it up. The artist didn’t use the word in its literal sense and I thought it was clever how she used it. It’s my new favorite word even if sometimes it’s hard to say.
Also! It’s very appropriate for this thread lol
I learned it when we would do mock performances of Hamlet in school.  My teacher used the word so much that every time I hear "To be or not to be..." I immediately think of my 11th grade English teacher.
🤣
At least it wasn't so bad that she can't be forgiven.  I know others who will never forgive their parents (some who've been long dead at this point) and nor should they.  Some people just really should never have children, or have been born in the first place.
I'm wondering If we're gonna need more security the public memorial. 110 going ir i terested and rising.
I'm going to say I doubt it?  First off there are at least two other events that night.  Second is it's a goth crowd, which (while being drama filled bitches at times) is generally known for being pretty easy going and non-confrontational.  Not to mention if anything does happen, many will actively try to put a stop to it.  I've done security at City so I'd obviously help.  We kind of take care of our own, and if need be we will also take care of our own.  Hopefully though everyone is respectful and no one needs to be shown the door.  But since it is open to the public who knows what unsavory characters might wander in?
Apparently, I've been too spoiled by VRV.  Crunchyroll logged me out and told me that "Your session has expired".  I'm thinking "What session, I was watching TV".
Yeah...live and keep learning.
Everyone gets along or you're shown the door.
this really was never true, you're just required to be respectful when arguing with someone. common courtesy, really. the problem most people had was that they got angry/disrespectful/insulting when arguing, and that does go against the rules. i've never understood why it was so difficult to grasp this concept?
(sorry, not harping on you specifically SG, just venting a frustration!)
Well I didn't say exactly how they'd be shown the door.  There's a forceful way and a not so forceful way.  Like Moe for instance.  She was never outright banned here, only The Gathering (and really it's a public restaurant so anyone can show up if they really want to be confrontational.)
Also speaking of my own various bans I've never really been outright confrontational other than on the topic.  It's always been more of a passive-aggressive snark.  I also truly believe in attacking the idea rather than the person (unless the person is an idiot.) For example there, there have been a few "fundies" I think I've scared away from the board.  Really I had no problem with them other than when they tried to shoehorn their beliefs into every other post, and make new posts about them.  It's fine to have faith, just don't be a hypocrite about it (as it says in Matthew 6:5.) Oh, I guess that was about the idea too mostly.  I could have cut this part out but I already took the time to look up and link that bibble quote.
Which is the other thing, sometimes it's not even an admin or a mod showing them the door, but the community itself.
Although I suppose it all depends on one's point of view anyway.
I always use my real birthday. And, there’s no shame in my game. I’m 57 and kind of proud of it. Otherwise, I really do closely guard my privacy when it comes to personal shit like that. My bank account was hacked choice during the shut down. We’re not doing that again.
