Back to manually downloading photos again.

I upgraded my Google Photos to Google One last night with a 100 GB storage capacity.  What I didn't realize was that once the storage download started, it would then go back into all of the "high quality free storage" items and convert them to original quality images and add them to the new paid storage capacity.

Due to the software block Android placed on the ability to download directly to a computer, I had 2 years of photos stuck on my phone until I finally let Google Photos back them up for free.  That ended June 1, 2021.  After that Google Photos added a free 15 GB storage which did not count any data stored prior to the deadline date.

I upgraded my storage, thinking that I was converting the 15 GB storage into a 100 GB storage to download the overage which would have left me multiple Gigs of buffer room to store images and/or download as I deemed necessary.  However, halfway through backing up the extra photos, it stopped, went back and began converting and adding the 2 years of "free" storage to the 100 GB paid storage.

At this rate, I will be right back where I started from before I got the extra storage upgrade which will include that constant notification telling me that I'm out of storage and to upgrade or I will no longer be able to send/receive emails, save contacts, etc.

Oh well.

😌

I personally use a portable Western Digital 2 TB drive for my photos.  It's like a supersized flash drive, but can hold way more.  I use Solid State Drives for internal storage.

Just thought I'd share.

I do the majority of my computer parts shopping at Micro Center.

When I do online parts orders, I use TigerDirect.com.

Getting back in from another HomeHouse cleaning run.  I declare that boy has allowed his brain to turn into marshmallows and then blames everything else because he didn't take care of it.

Got back in about an hour ago and I have been working on internet connectivity issues for the past half hour.  The gateway is running wonky and the POD is just not recognized.  I am actually doing an entire system restart.

Fortunately, my phone can be used as a Hot Spot, so I am still able to be online right now.
