NocteSpiritus
I did this last year, and for being on a time schedule for a later event, I enjoyed it. Below is a copy/paste from the event's facebook page. I All are invited to join in the 10th Annual Marche du Nain Rouge, a parade made up of Detroiters. All invited--young, old, all shapes, sizes, and persuasions. Just show up!Noon: Gather at the corner of Canfield and Second, right next to Traffic Jam & Snug, for a celebration of Detroit with live entertainment.1 p.m.: We parade down to the Masonic Temple. You are the parade, so come masked or fully costumed. Bring a marching band. Wear a costume. Build a human-powered float. Put on a mask, cover your body in glitter -- whatever it takes.Should the Nain Rouge, Detroit's legendary harbinger of doom, try something dastardly, we will show him that hope prevails in the city that rises from the ashes. Bring your sense of Detroit pride and sense of humor.IMPORTANT STUFFNO OPEN CARRY OF ALCOHOL. Be Smart! Also, be respectful of fellow parade attendees and our neighbors, residents and businesses in the area. And be cool to everyone, especially protesters. We welcome all views on the legend of the Nain Rouge.AWARDSAwards will be presented to groups with the best costumes and human-powered floats!COSTFree!
