I studied hard core religion, and learned alot about religion in history and also looked at science and religion.

I did about 2-3 years of personal religious study. Went to several "Sects", and compared 3 different bibles in my studies.

I conclude that there is a god, the bible is real, and it is how we interpret it. Actually it is not how we interpret it, but how we take it into consideration.

I do not know the correct religion.

I feel there should be ONE. But everyone wants to find something they can relate to. Most Religions enforce the commandments, &/or rules. People like myself who want to try to reason why it is OK to do certain things or have certain beliefs, when we were told that this is how it is, you get shunned, and you feel ostrisized or looked down on, thus creating "Sects" that make certain things OK to do, by finding Loop-holes in the "rules" or "commandments"......

TO ME, I feel without a god or something that my meaning in life would be nothing....EVEN IF there is no god, which I really have no doubt, then I will have wasted my life and time on learning about it....Oh well. I have some peace of mind thinking about what I have learned. I am not a good christian, or religious type by any means. I find it interesting. I also think Science is religion, and relgion is science. If you look at history and compare stories in the bible, there has to be something. The facts are there.

I am just not ready to commit....which is what it comes down to ... from what I understand.

I don't know.....I am just a speck.

I am pretty much an agnostic... I don't want to rule out anything. I have studied a lot of Western Religion, as well as Native American belief, I have seen that almost all religions have something to offer be it truth, inspiration, or guidence. However it seems that history has taught me that organized religions seem to get abused by humans very easily and harmfully. I have very little problem with any religions as long as it stays away from people... I guess that sounds a bit odd.

To me all beliefs are pretty much as likely as the next, be it that a big dude made everything and gave us all rules to follow or we suffer until the end of time. Or that two sisters in a cave made the animals and people to populate the earth. Maybe it is was all a random congrigation of events that made that made the universe with no deeper meaning or spiritual force... Or any of the infinite possibilities that we have not even dreamed of our discovered.

I have no religeon; I simply say that I'm agnostic. I lean towards Zen Budhism but of course, I'm a part of a Judeo/Christian culture so it's a bit different and again, I can't really bring myself to worship anything-I have no problems blaming but worshiping is something else. I should also say that I'm much more into the writings of Darwin than Budha or Basho, etc. -Along with this psuedo Zen thing and my inclination towards Atheism I'm sort of Trotskyist and a bit of a Nihilist. Hard to put all that together, I know.

Oh, and the Church of Elvis, naturally.

Phee said things very well from my standpoint.

I'm basically agnostic, with pagan leanings in the direction of the beliefs of my ancestors, the ancient Poles. Basically nature-worshippers, with no pantheon of gods or named deities. They believed in the spirituality of everything.

And when the Christians invaded, they shrugged their shoulders and said, "sure, why not" and, as a friend put it, went to Mass then came home and fed the fairies. They followed a dual-faith that allowed for the existence of some Christian influence into their basic earth religion.

A former Catholic, I allow for the same.

I also lean heavily toward the influence of NA ways. I believe in animal totems, a respect for animals of all kinds, etc.

And karma directs my actions always. I try not to do anything that'll come back to kick me in my own ass.

I think all religions, for the most part, are valid. It is not for me to say what is and is not bullshit. Though I tend to steer away from anything man-written or interpreted, including the Bible.

I believe true spirituality comes from within. Seek, and thy shall find.

"I do not consider it an insult, but rather a compliment to be called an agnostic. I do not pretend to know where many ignorant men are sure -- that is all that agnosticism means."

- Clarence Darrow, Scopes trial, 1925.

Since no one really knows anything about God, those who think they do are just troublemakers.

Rabia of Basra, Love Poems From God

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I am atheist. I hold the view called 'weak atheism' which essentially espouses a stance of unbelief ("I don't believe in god"), as opposed to the position of 'strong atheism' which entails a positive belief ("God does not exist"). While I consider any statement about our knowledge of god pretty much irrelevant in light of unbelief, I have noted that I display some leanings towards agnostic atheism, as well.

It is well to note, especially given the last sentence, that weak atheism is NOT agnosticism. Atheism deals strictly with belief, while agnosticism concerns knowledge of or about god. These two links may help clarify.
