Did you manage to make it?

 

I felt a little bad.  Someone mentioned that they went and was looking for me.  Unfortunately, I haven't been to a physical gathering since COVID started.  We used to meet at a location called "The Red Apple Restaurant and Inn".  If you scroll through the old gathering posts, you can see what it used to be like.  There was even a YouTube channel with videos of the night's antics.

 

We started referring to the area where we sat as the "Absurd Section" because a lady complained to the owner, who had become a very good friend of ours, that a particular individual, a.k.a. ME, was being "loud and absurd".  She couldn't even say that I interrupted her meal because she and the guy she was with had nada plates (they hadn't even ordered anything yet).  She just sat there watching me for over a half hour.  She never even mentioned any of the other 6 people I was socializing with, nope, just this one individual who kept "laughing and talking loudly".

I didn't because I was supposed to meet someone's friends at the same time but uh that plan fell through and sadly I wasn't able to course correct in time. 

 

But another time I'll have to make it out! 

 

Ohhh something fun to go deep diving for haha this site is a freaking treasure. 

 

I love "Absurd section" as a label lol that's so fun! 

But sad that the name came about in such an annoying way lol

When I first joined this site, all I did was read old posts because it made me feel like I got to know the members who were already pretty steady here at the time.  I made it my New Year's resolution to actually meet up with people.  It started with me meeting one of the members in Adrian, Michigan and went from there.

 

But no worries about the name that came about.  We all reveled in it to the point that we actually created table signs that we brought with us every Thursday night.  People actually started inquiring about it and would come the day we were there just to hang out with us.  I turned a negative into a positive and we all had fun with it...even the owner and the waitstaff.

If you guys ever want to do a pop in, I been wanting to go again. It's been way before covid for my last visit also😉 plus, I kinda like IHOP a lot 😅

Girl...you know I got concerned when I saw the location.  Being where I'm from and just going to The Red Apple was like heading into Redneck Central (no offense to anyone this applies to😅).  I saw some inside guest photos and got the yikes moment. 

 

I might try for it sometime this coming Summer, but I make no promises.

 

I do miss the crazy, however.

Tbh I find it wildly impressive. But I also am so adhd that I'll think of a post and get distracted before I find the forum it goes in XD

Oh shot really? Is it Dearborn Heights? Hmmm, Yea I'm not sure how they are over there but if you got a vibe from seeing the pictures you know instincts say alot. Lemme know who's ass I have to beat. I'll get my sister we gonna roll up like what up up now,  IHOP 💯👊

We always got the side eye whenever we strolled up into The Red Apple...it's just that they got used to seeing us after a few months.  Since it used to be a 24 hour restaurant, that was one of the reasons we used to arrive so late.  Things changed when they changed their closing time to 11pm, I believe it was.

 

Me being allergic to the Sun and having to cover up like a gothic mummy from an Ozzy cover didn't make things any better.
