@kat

Although it is a Karaoke Box, you can still just come and see what the place is like.  However, if it will take too much out of you, please do not push yourself.  I'm sure the building isn't going anywhere.

I can't believe the security guards, at the front door, called my work goiter a "Ninja Mask" and was very adamant about IT not entering the building due to cameras inside the karaoke joint.  Then going through my bag with a flashlight felt like I was entering the White House to sing Happy Birthday to the President or something.  And then, on top of that, it was freaky how the waiter bogarted into the room to take any orders and projected his voice over the music.  The other crew used to ask at the doorway and take any order right there.

It was very surreal.

I wonder if going at an earlier time would yield different (better) results? 🤔

The mask thing is weird because it's not like Covid went away.  Also did they treat any of the others that way or just you?  I'm not one to automatically jump to discrimination, but if it was just you then that's more than likely discrimination.  If they treat everyone like that 100% they got robbed and are being overly cautious to the point of inconvenience.  It's not like my city is a rough area at all from what I can see.

But basically you're paying them to host an event that you could do cheaper at someone's house, ordering pizza/booze, hooking up a computer to a TV, and finding things on YouTube.

They were stopping everyone at the door for a search.  I just happen to have on the wrong "type" of mask.  They bought me a medical mask.  The guy said, "You have to understand with the dark hat (I was wearing the House Spiral Beanie) and the dark "Ninja" mask covering your face, the cameras would have a hard time making you out."  I literally had to laugh.

As the guy was then making his way through my bag, I was thinking, "Yeah, bright lights everywhere, little Black girl wearing black and white stripes on her arms and legs with a blue-green plaid layered mini skirt and an Under Armour T-Shirt that he (the second security guard who gave me the medical mask) just made a comment about because seeing the brand name seemed to have ticked him off when he said, 'No one cares about your Under Armour', just now, yeah, I would really get lost in the crowd."

Tina wasn't wearing a mask.  They checked her little envelope of a purse and she was in. Tammy was wearing the nationally accepted COVID mask so I'm sure she probably didn't have a problem getting in.  She was also in all light colors and a white mask.  They searched her bag and she was good to go.

~~~
Also, yeah, I have a Karaoke machine and with the ROKU TV now, we just search YouTube and have a ball.  It's just that sometimes, it's fun to be in that Karaoke setup atmosphere where everything is already setup and you don't have to be responsible for the afterparty cleanup. 😊
I totally get that UA comment, because UA is to tactical as Tapout is to MMA.  It's just another brand hocking overpriced garbage trying to make a buck.  In reality though they're no better or worse than any other article of clothing though and no one should shame anyone else for their clothing choices (unless it's a MAGA/BBB hat or something silly like those.)
I saw Tina's comment about the purse in the other thread.  Really all of that is silly though and not even City Club is that strict anymore.  This is also why I haven't been to Sanctuary in a very long time, though I think they do mostly black metal shows now.  The only time when I allow anything like that is entering any federal buildings or crossing the boarder.  Otherwise everyone can fuck off with their draconian entry policies.  I probably don't need to go wherever that is that badly anyway.
It's just sad because I fell in love with going to KTV because of how much fun it was.  This felt like when my class took a tour of the Wayne Count Courthouse holding facility back when I was in middle school.
I had sudden visions of them freaking out over you and a gun holster...:whistle:
I'll comment because I've had the empty holster going into places.  I think someone said something one time and I said if it wasn't empty then he could be concerned.  I left it in the car because I knew better.  I did inform him of the mag with ammo and said that I wasn't leaving a loaded gun in the car.  There are currently no laws that I know of preventing me from taking those into a bar, only the firearm itself.
Really though it's all security theater.  If things can still get past the TSA what hope does some underpaid door goon have?  They have female security to pat down the women?  Metal detectors/x-ray/back scatter machines?  Oh no things have gotten rough at the karaoke bar!  Really the only way I see that actually happening is if the Yakuza showed up to unwind (because the Japanese sure do love their karaoke) and then the FBI also showed up as well.
