Dr. Marten's Boots

Recommended Posts

I've got my eyes on a couple pairs up for auction on Ebay.

I'm wondering how they fit for size. I generally wear an 8-1/2, but lately find myself fitting into a lot of size 8's.

Boots have a tendency to be a bit big on me, so I usually end up putting on thick socks, sometimes two pairs with some.

I wouldn't get them in a size 8. But I'm wondering how true they are to their numbers? As in, if I generally wear a size 8-1/2, are THEIR size 8-1/2's going to be roomy, requiring extra thick socks, or kinda on the tight side, calling for buying maybe a 1/2 size bigger?

The ones I want are only available in a U.K. 6.5/U.S. 8.5. I can get a pair in a size 8, but the description says they've got some scratches, and I don't care to pay for scratched boots when I can get a pair of perfect ones.

Anyway, thick socks will take care of that. And I put some fleece insoles in a different, too-large pair and it helped a ton.

Off to buy those boots!!!
