LuluVox
ravens can DEFINATELY talk. the ravens up here are small child sized, and will sit around and imitate you. it's awesome, but in a very strangely disturbing way. the first time you hear a raven try to say "stupid cunt" you wonder about the mysteries of nature. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hehehe. That is awesome.

Fierce Critter
My cats do that, too. We call it "the fly noise". I think it's an expression of frustration at not being able to reach whatever bird/bug/whatever they want to catch & eat. We looked it up online, and I believe that's the explanation given in most cases. As for starlings, I love 'em. I think they're so funny, walking around the grass in "packs", their iridescent feathers glittering. I find them very pretty. Ravens - there's one at a tiny zoo up in Traverse City that talks. He doesn't say a ton of different things, but one of the most amusing is he actually says the word "CAW" instead of making the sound. It's hilarious to walk around hearing him call out "Caw caw!" Homicidalheathen
My sis told me Starlings were brought here from Europe? As a pet bird and became rampant and that they compete with native birds for feed which is bad.... All I know is I side with the underdog. They seem like a underdog type of bird. My cat eats them and so you cannot have to many...ya know? They are easy prey. Really.
TomCat
I've noticed a few cats doing that-like I said, I believe it's because they are trying to trick the birds into coming closer-sort of like a duck hunter making duck calls, hunting ducks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I speak duck...and I kill them. I know of this kind of skill.
EvilEve
speaking of animals talking, my dog talks to us. he'll go around and call for my mom, and he'll say "hey" if he wants you to play. he also screams. never heard of a dog sreaming before. it's that high-pitched screaming. i like the noises that starlings make though. however, when they get into HUGE flocks, then it can be a bit annoying. Brenda Starrr
Sunny drinks out of the toilet, like a dog. She also makes this bizarre sound when she's eating things off of your plate when you're not looking. I wish I could imitate it on here, because it's really funny!
