Fierce Critter
Very cool, BS! Actually, I've never been much for yellow in my own wardrobe - come to think of it, I don't know that I can remember a single yellow item I've ever worn, at least since toddlerhood. Guess people who bought me clothes as a kid didn't think yellow went with blonde or something, and I just carried that on. I don't own every color... yet. The colors I DO own (except for the white ones, all hi-tops): Red (My faves, 12 years old and I'm torn over whether I should get a new pair or not.) Black Short white Orange Rose Pink (dyed myself, before pink ones were available, and yes, the white rubber parts stayed white) Hot Pink with hot pink rhinestones (also dyed myself & I set the stones myself) 1992 Christmas (red & green with other Christmas accents) Red Plaid with black rubber Fuzzy gold/black Leopard (they come in white/black too) Hmmm... I thought I had more than that... Someday, I'd like a couple pairs of patent ones in black & red, but I can't remember if they made those yet. I would have bought more this year, but I bought my new Dr. Marten 20-eyes, which might be here Friday!!!!
Brenda Starrr
I just came back from buying black satin brocade with pink accents. Kind of like a cheongsam, but in shoes. These will be my "dress" Converse! I want to know where you find the fuzzy ones, FC! I want fuzzy!
Fierce Critter
I got them online last year. They come in a calf-hi model, too, which I initally bought. But I actually didn't like how they looked, so I returned them for the classic hi-top. I've seen the ones you described. They're very nice. I can remember when I bought my first pairs in the early '90s. It was hard to find them in anything but black, red, optic white & off-white. That's why I dyed my pink ones. And damn if the price hasn't gone up in 10 years time. I probably paid $20 a pair for mine, and now they're like $50.
Brenda Starrr
I got the yellow ones for $37.50, and the black ones for $44.00. I can't believe I spent that much on sneakers, but I love them. I need more colors!

Fierce Critter
Ah - that's right. The ones I paid $50 for are the special-edition plaid & leopard ones. Still, $37.50 vs. $20 is a pretty steep rise in price. Otherwise, I'd have more solid colors. Then again, I don't think I'd wear certain colors very often. I don't even wear the black ones all that much. I would, however, probably wear the ALL-black ones (with black canvas AND rubber) to death. Have to look into getting a pair of those sometime.
