damagedangel
Why must friends bring up the fact that they have ran into your ex-boyfriend (or ex-girlfriend, whatever the situation is)? I mean, I can understand wanting to make small talk and perhaps you don't know what else to talk about... but I really didn't need to hear what I heard today.. This total nonsense post brought to you by... vodka! That is all.

Homicidalheathen
Nope, your right....I mean....we need time to heal and people are insensetive at times...I think they think maybe you want updates.....just tell them quite honestly you could care a less what so and so is up to. If they are rude enough to bring it up then don't feel bad cutting them off mid sentence.
damagedangel
Well to be honest, he probably thought it would be ok to bring this person up in conversation, we've not been together for 2 years. But I don't want to hear how he's happy and how well he is doing lol I think that if this person comes up in the next conversation that we have I'll politely ask my friend to drop the subject. And I think there will be no more drinking and posting LOL
Scary Guy
I still hear about past girlfriends and just plain love interests. I just recently saw a card (again) that fits my thoughts well on the matter (see attachment). Anyway sometimes it's alright like when they screw up or do something stupid. Then it's like "wow I really doged a bullet there". Other times I try to avoid it like with my friend who obsesses and dwells on everything (exactly like I tend to do). The other day I couldn't resist though: him: "I still need to name my laptop" me: "call it Jean" him: "oh god no" me: "no way it's perfect, something that is a money pit, pisses you off constantly, and that you don't need" He's still thinkng aobut it. ZhukovCodeslinger
usually running into (hearing from or hearing about) an ex sucks.... you sit there afterwards and can only dream of all the great things you would/should have said to either fix things or punish them.... I have only managed to get the punish option to work once and god it fealt so good <smile> Usually I was on the crappy end so I have done everything I could to avoid any contact with exes (that I dont get along with/despise)
