[11/19, Sat] BAUHAUS

I've heard there are possible links to Al Queda being investigated, although...

On another note: Glad to see a lot of old rock band members like Keith Richards and Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones or Peter Murphy and Danial Ash from Bauhaus putting aside their differences with one another and ignoring what they stand for in order to save struggling TicketMaster. -Nice to see so many of them making it back on tour again, sometimes without even recording a new album...

Even at $40, I cannot resist the urge to participate in such a fine example of brotherhood in the name of art.

-And as much as my inner child would like to see it, if Morrissey and Johnny Marr ever get back together again, I'm topping myself, I don't care.

I saw them on their reunion tour the last time they were in the Detroit area. The tickets sold out REALLY fast. It would be very cool to see them play a smaller venue like the RO Music Theater though.

Now they just need to exhume the corpse of Ian Curtis so Joy Division can go on tour too. :grin

In the words of Iggy Pop, "What do I care if they use my music in car commercials? The only people who were interested in my music when it was new, were guys with really shitty jobs, who drove really bad cars and so I never made a fucking cent. Now I'm in my 50's and the music is over 20 years old-what do I care if someone wants to use it as a soundtrack to sell breakfast sausage or whatever else?"

I guess that's sort of the philosophy.

I'm so there. There was a summer in like 94-95ish that I saw Love and Rockets and Peter Murphy at separate shows, but not all at once. Time to get that taken care of.

They (Love and Rockets) started to play Bela Lugosi is Dead for like 10 seconds.

I saw Peter Murphy at Industry, but I can't remember which came first.

I don't remember a whole lot about either show except that i liked love and rockets better then peter murphy. although i was kind of bummed out because i got this sweet love and rockets long sleaved black shirt with the logo embroydered on it because my ex-husband who also worked at the Hall, Industry and the Phenoix Plaza (Blair was partical owner of all three at the time) as a loader for the bands (so he was always getting free shrits and what not) and the fucking thing fell apart the first time i washed it. I had to safety pin the damn thing back together. So Peter Murphy got better ratings on show gear.

tickets haven't gone on sale yet, but they'll probably be around $40 or so, according to the dates already posted on ticketmaster.

Not only is the Royal Oak theatre about 2 blocks from my house, but the show is on my birthday. Yay.

thats my little sisters birthday to

Just took another look-

The Bauhaus website still lists a show at Royal Oak Music Theatre on 11/19, however the Ticketmaster website now lists "no dates scheduled in Detroit & surrounding areas" if you do a search for Bauhaus. The event schedule for Royal Oak Music Theatre no longer records a Bauhaus show on 11/19 (or any other date) either. Tickets.com makes no mention of a Bauhaus show-perhaps the show was cancelled and the Bauhaus website hasn't been updated yet...

I just called the theatre. The promoter asked that the Royal Oak Music Theatre remove the Bauhaus show from their events calander because "they don't have enough information on it yet", however, I was assured that, none the less, Bauhaus would play at the Royal Oak Music Theatre on 19 November. I confirmed that ROMT usually used tickets.com and asked whether that had anything to do with the show also being removed from the ticketmaster website but they could not substantiate that.
