ladies and gentelmen people of the press i have an announcement to make city club sucks like projectile menstruation if you or any one you know has been going there for more then 3 years you run a high chance of getting kicked out for at least 5 weeks if you go there and drink alot ( of liquor that isn't theirs) and you will run a chance of being a liability (according to the almighty goddess of goth Sybil you know since she owns the place more than higgins does ???) so i hereby demand a boycott of the place in the last 3 weeks more then 4 regs have been kicked out i belive this is because they are trying to bring in a new crowd

okay heres what happened since i wasnt clear in my opening fit of rage post....... about 3 weeks ago my girlfriend got drunk there and almost passed out she was sitting on a chair by the door for a little while and the people in charge told me that she couldnt fall asleep there so we took her out to her car...we go back to city club tonight (first time back since this happened) and were there about 90 mins and crank runs up to me saying that my girlfriend is getting kicked out it appears that the person in charge at the time told her that when she goes there she drinks to much and can not come back for 5 weeks because she is a liabilty which s something that they should have told me when we left the club with her 3 weeks ago plus like i said her and other people whom have been going to the club for years have been getting kicked out lately including former bouncers and i strongly belive they are trying to usher in a new crowd that might bring them more money

I've been saying that for years, which is why I NEVER go anymore. I try to avoid labyrinth but I get dragged there once in a while.

I'll let you look up my old posts if you wnat to see exactly why I hate it.

Only reason people still go is a huge dance floor and it's open till 4:30. If Mephisto's was that size and could stay open that late we'd take all their customers no contest. We also actually care about our customers, and people seem to like that rather than being treated like cattle.

The new crowd thing....is mostly done with music ha. Some old goths hate techno.....I love it and the stuipid young ravers. Oh well.

I know a couple bouncers that always helps......I don't get too drunk......and I wear tape now not pasties and won't let loose a penis. (god did I just say that?)

We get kicked out and wait and go back...please don't stop going.... :confused

I personally think that people just need to be responsible when they go out to a club and drink (or use any other substance). The folks who I see getting kicked out of CC often ask for it. You can't have people passing out and vomiting in every corner OR harassing others. I see so many DGN people falling over drunk every weekend, and it scares me that many of them drive home after they leave CC. I wish more people would just chill out every weekend and be more responsible. Besides the lack of air conditioning, CC does have a very large dance floor, decent bartenders, and good DJs. The fact that it's open so late and has a diner and hotel attached to it is just another bonus. No one is forcing anyone to go there. But, just know that other places WILL likewise kick out people for similar reasons.

I have only gotten drunk there maybe once or twice, so I have never had any trouble. I like to think that unless I get in a fight I will not have much trouble with the club since Ron knows me well enough. But that could be thrown out because Sybil just banned Ty from the club after they helped a guy on crutches from being harassed by some other clubber, which was outside the club. If you know Ty, he was a major part of their security for a long time. The thread is on the DCC board where it tells the story. I personally could do without Sybil as she isn't really important to the club. I wish Mike would take care of things in that club, but he isn't too concerned as he likes it running like the old days. I DO however, need to get out to Mephistos more. I still have to meet up with the jewelry maker at the CC tonight so I can nab my tassle.

Yeah if you screw up at our bar we do kick you out, and I think we have a three strike rule or something (one if it's bad enough). However no one does anything because it's a nice club. It's so nice some people even pick up after themselves cause they think they're at a friends house. We have no fights what so ever and everyone is always nice and polite. We're not without our rules but we do actually care about our patrons and not about just not getting sued.

I remember the days when I used to like going, then I saw no one cared if I was there or not. Troy has his DGN nights there every Saturday and he has brought them a ton of business over the years and continues to do so. Yet he still does not get in free and if he forgets his ID they give him shit for it. We happen to like him, all of you, DGN, and not just your money like "they" do. We like to think of you more as friends and not as customers (but we do gotta make money). We'll usually let regulars in free (except for the new guy, but he's new and don't know no better yet, and I don't know how long that will last with him) and also keep in mind I get paid out of the door too along with the other DJs.

OK I'm rambling again, I'ma stop now.

That's what so great about smaller sort of "Ma and Pa" places. I agree that Mephisto's is indeed a nice place to hang out, and I like going there on Wed. nights in particular. But, bigger places like CC always have new people working there, and "tourists" come there every week. I think that it's inevitable to have hardasses on staff when people have to deal with so much bullshit there every week.

I worked there for years, as if that isn't a good enough reason to not go anymore, I don't get along with Sybil, but I love my brothers, so I would go, now that all but 2 of them were banned, I just won't go. the way they ban people is crap! I don't understand how someone can be banned for drinking, but the guy who gave me a concussion while I was a bouncer didn't even get thrown out for the night. pure crap. I still want to see the people...but not there, so I have been going to other clubs, may not be as easy for me to get to them, but at least I haven't been banned from any of them.

Eh, I've not been going recently.... Mostly lack of A/C, but the last few times when they were giving Crank a hard time was enough for me to not worry much about going out to CC. I've more or less made Mephisto's my new home at least for Wednesday nights. The last few times at CC have been less than special and I didn't like the atmosphere with the new bouncers, no offence Crystal- didn't mean you. But, I guess that would be the opinion of an ex-regular. I get the impression from the bouncers that my reguarly scheduled lapdances and for anyone who was there for the occasional stripteases I get would get people banned. I more or less got the feeling last time that it just wasn't home anymore.

Never had any issues or problems at CC and I've been going there for over 3 years. I've been black-out drunk there on many occasions and never once had any trouble with bouncers and/or threatened to be banned..maybe I can hold my liquour, who knows. My biggest issues with the place is lack of AC, parking, and over-priced drinks. Last sat I was there and this guy working at the bar, not Anita the coolest bartender ever, charged me $10 a drink!!!! I never payed that much before and to top it off it tasted like there was no absoute in it...so after this weekend if Anita isn't there Im not buying anything from the bar.

Yep, that was Bishop that served you the drink. You have also been going for not only more than 3 years, but for about 9 years man. I remember meeting you back then I think in 96 or 97. That alcohol really is messing up your memory! LOL

That is bullshit!! I've been going to cc for over 7 years, and have never had a problem. I've passed out in there a few times too, and I'm always piss drunk in that place! I drop quite a bit of money there in a weekend, so maybe I will boycott for awhile.

On another note: I ONLY go to Anita for my drinks.

who is the older gentleman in the hat that bartends????? He's been awesome to me. The only issue that I had was when Morbid Suicide was banned for two weeks. Other then that i've been going there for 10 years and never had a problem with anyone really.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

that is Marvin, and he is awesome! and Bishop is my ex, he's not bad with some drinks, I personally miss Jhonny's shots

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.

    • I'm glad  that yesterday's day at work is long gone now. There was a very strong unusual energy that I felt, and couldn't get done with the day fast enough. It wasn't  the job at all. I just felt like I really needed to keep my mouth shut, to keep me from getting in situation(s) that probably wouldn't have ended well for me.
    • You can trust anyone you want.  The only question is whether or not they're deserving of that trust. No risk = no reward.  As such you have to let yourself be vulnerable sometimes and realize that all people will let you down eventually whether it's intentional or not.  The frequency that it happens is what's important.
    • Sorry, I don't check this as often as I should. Anyway document everything (although it sounds like @Trene4000already has been from her post.) It's okay to cry and break down, but not in front of them.  Never give them the satisfaction of seeing you crack.  If anything I'd go out of my way to piss them off, but I don't like being that guy either (and as such I'm not very good at it, except sometimes when I'm not intending to be.) I try to only help those whom deserve it, but that's often hard to judge.  Seeing how someone treats other people is a pretty good indicator of whether or not they're worthy.  Sociopathic narcissistic asshats are very much not worthy. I hope things are going well for you guys.
