SomeDanGuy
So, I set up a webcam recently that I occasionally have running. Every couple seconds it saves an image to my web server, overwriting the previous one. What I DIDN'T notice was a little checkbox in the settings somewhere that said "save image to log directory". I ran a virus scan today and noticed it hung while going through assloads of images in this one directory. When I finally opened the folder...guess how many images? 1,208,666. ~4.7kb each for a total of 4.7GB worth! Let me just say that Windows was NOT happy about working with a folder of that magnitude. I couldn't tell you how many full minutes it took to even display folder contents. I guess maybe sometimes I should read instructions instead of just stumbling my way through setup :blink

SomeDanGuy
Yeah, I talked to my brother and I guess he had the same problem last year, but windows would crash every time he tried to delete the files. I'm going to start them deleting overnight and see if it gets anywhere :-/

The_Dark
RTFM It's prolly more a problem of ram than it is your OS.
SomeDanGuy
True. But it's fixed now, so no worries.
