....aw C'mon man, I'm a thumper (been called that at least) and I havent threated to beat your ass even once....

PS - yeah - many (too many) will give you trite responses based on their religiosity and the tapes playing in their heads.

But do you also then disregard those who also exhibit occasional cognizant thought, and base their model of faith on personal life patters and experiences within said beleif system?  I mean - if we're all going to be trashed for our weak links whats the point of any of this?

PPSS - the "logical" christian who cussed you out.....

that seems like a rather illogical and highly emotional response based on his or her personal frustration based on an unsteady personal foundation outside of rhetoric.  In my world.... that's what I call a pew polisher, not a Christian.

Now I"M going to get cussed out.....(but I warn you boys I aint no punk beeeech)

I got cussed out because I said "Faith is not logic based and there for does not figure into the ultimate equation". That and this person is close to me.

Well, I'd have to disagree with you there. This is definitely subject to the individual, and while I will say, in most instances faith is not logic based, there are certainly people with faith that derives from logic. While you may not believe in divine intervention, or God talking to people, your perspective on reality only applies to you. I'm not attacking you by any means, and certainly you're entitled to your own opinion, but I'm merely suggesting that if the possibility exists that God does talk to people, then some believers definitely have logic based faith. Logic itself is subject to the individual anyways. Though our perspectives on reality differ, I'm sure you can agree that you might find some things completely logical, that I find completely illogical and vice versa. I'm sure given my premise, you might see the logic in my thinking, as if I were given your premise I would find the logic in your thinking. Whether or not I agree matters little.

On another note, even without divine intervention and concrete, tangible proof in the existence of God, I might find faith by other very logical means. Our genesis is a good example of this. While we can definitely prove that our race did not come from Earth, logical thinking would suggest we came from somewhere else. Using the scientific method, we could hypothesize that we were either a colonization attempt, banished, or put here by a being greater than ourselves. By researching the latter, we might ask God for something, assuming from our research of the Christian religion that if we have the right intentions there is nothing God wouldn't give us if we asked him. If we receive what we ask for with the right intentions everytime, wouldn't it be logical to have faith? I guess this would after all be an example of divine intervention, but the difference is we would have faith because of results rather than, because we were born with it. Of course, there is a vast difference between faith and "blind" faith also. That is an entirely different topic though.

So in closing, I guess I could agree that "blind" faith is not based on logic.
