unchaste
...one more motherf*cking time, I am going to kill my sister. I'm going to walk calmy into her room, and eviscerate her with a pair of scissors. I swear. I believe that I have heard this piece of shit song 47,625,319 times since it was released. And that's just counting it coming out of her room, much less the radio & video play it got. Anyone want to help me end her life?

the eternal
"Bring some music But if it's Evanescence, you'll be severely mocked" Scene from the Gilmore Girls, as Rory was preparing for a party. I've never forgotten that line.
EvilEve
i can go without hearing that song in particular for the rest of this year, but i don't hate Evanescence entirely. i don't listen to it when it's on the radio, and i don't listen to the cd all that much. everything in moderation is good... well, almost everything. Head Wreck
just that song i think for that album it was managment push to mainstream. metal is being turned more and more into manufactured pop music unfortunatly.

Scary Guy
What I really hate is the mix with the deuchbag thrown in "wake me up, can't wake up" blah blah blah. The original didn't have him and was better (as far as that band goes anyhow). Not to mention they are such a rip off of Lacuna Coil it isn't even funny. Pulse State
I like that CD, but I always skip that song. And Scary Guy is right... Lacuna Coil were doing it way before Evanescence, and better. Since then, that "female-fronted metal" sound has become popular, especially overseas. L'Âme Immortelle changed their sound to the point where a couple of their songs seriously sound like Lacuna Coil or Evanescence songs, and then you've also got Nightwish which is gaining an insane amount of airplay over there (and is starting to make a splash here in North America). Within Temptation and Bloodflowerz, whilst not very well known outside of Europe, are also capitalising on this current trend.
Head Wreck
nightwish are a very differant flavour of metal. been into them bout 3 - 4 years now. a friend who moved to boston introduced me to them as i listen to classical radio if i havent got power metal on. from there to a whole bunch of other great stuff not heared that often of mainland europe (nightwish used to do one gig a year in britain if you were lucky at bloodstock)
Pulse State
I am aware their sound is a bit different. I've been into them for about three years now and own four of their albums. But they do tend to get lumped in with the rest of those bands I mentioned simply because they're headed up by a female. I've read enough reviews like that.
