Next Requiem Night

Recommended Posts

Hello,

First off thanks to the people that came out this past Friday. There were not a lot of people there but I appreciate your support. Ron was very dissappointed in the turn out. He asked me if I wanted to keep going with the night. He suggested that we turn it into a 80's night but Im not that crazy about the idea. My question is to all of you is should I keep trying to bring people down to the Lab or am I wasting my time? I really would like to keep on doing this and have a regular night only if people are going to come out for it. I could always do it somewhere else if thats what you want but I need feedback. I spent a lot of time advertising and promoting a night and maybe the stigma of the Lab is true. Maybe it is a losing battle. I will do one more night this coming September 30th. If people dont show, then I guess I'll cancel the night. Admission is free now by the way. So what should I do?

Any new "gothy" night is going to start out slow without massive mega-uber pre-promotion and will take time to build a following for.

One of the key reasons that so many goth-ish themed nights at various clubs / venues around town have been here today , gone tomorrow operations is that there isn't a whole ton of patrons just chomping at the bit to go, it takes a long time to build a following and most places dont have the patience & energy.

For a "first night" if you got 5+ people in the place you might look at that as a win rather than a loss. Especially seeing as how there is city club right there to compete with.

If your not willing to do things like make fliers and plaster every car in SE michigan that is at a gothish themed place , smooze and gladhand tons of people at various existing venues on other nights , etc... it might be an uphill battle. Have to decide how much work your willing to do and if its worth it to you.
