Birth Control Pills

I can't take any form of BCP's that have Estrogen in them or I will have constant complex migraines and likely stroke out. There are only 2 brands of pill that don't contain estrogen *glad there is an option!*

So I've been on one of these brands for 1 1/2 years but I wish there was an alternative!

Pros:

- No wee ones.

- No fear of any wee ones "arriving."

- Spontaneous.

- Easy.

Cons:

- Massive 30 pound weight gain - that I am slowly getting rid of.

- 1/10 the sex drive I used to have.

- A fricken' mustache.

- Headaches anyway...but not strokeworthy ones at least.

- Sore boobs, spotting, pimples...gah! It's like being 12 in a 29 year old body!

I wish there was a "man" pill...or that the "Key" vasectomy was approved...I hate

being female sometimes. *grumble*

"We" had a vasectomy in our 2nd year of marriage.

Best decision we ever made.

I would have had my tubes tied, but Jon wouldn't let me go under the knife. So he "fell" on it for me.

Must be nice to have a guy do that for you. My guy doesn't believe in surgeries/medicine so I have to go through with it. :doh

Ugh.  How annoying.  I'm not in a position to need BC right now, but if I ever am I am not looking forward to dealing with them.  I HATE pills (and their side effects.)  Booo.

Yah, on the package for these BCPs there is a message saying that they aren't quite sure how they keep you from getting pregnant...but that they work 99% of the time. I think I could tell them: There is no chance of getting pregnant when you put on 30 lbs, grow a 'stache, get pimples, and have no sex drive~ :grin

No one cums inside me ever. Not even my husband now. I am alergic to sperm....top that.

My mother in law was a prisoner of war and she said they give you a shot so you won't go into mens for a few years and that it almost killed her.

We think prisoners were the guinny pigs for what we now call the depo shot.

I've been on the pill since I was 14 years old (my menses used to be even worse - ulgh). I still have a sex drive, but due to the combo of bc & antidepressants, it's nearly impossible for me to achieve an orgasm. There have been times that I've cried because I couldn't cum.

I still use condoms, but it's kinda comforting to know that if it breaks or something, you have a back-up. Yeah, there are other options, but IUDs just scare me, I don't really trust the shot (if you have no period, how can you know if you get knocked up?), and I'm far too young to have my tubes tied. So I take my little pill every night, and all is right in the world.

I have tried various brands of bc pills. I use to be on a triphasic pill which was causing bad headaches due to the decrease of hormones in the pill every week. I finally switched to a monophasic pill which is the same dose every week except for the last week..the week you get your period and it seems to be helping alot.

I do still get headaches but not as often and apparently I get them due to my body having withdrawals since I am not getting estrogen that one week.

The nice bonus of a monophasic pill is that you are able to skip a period if you want. You control it. You just continue on to a new pack the last week. The doctor informed me that you only have to have 6 periods a year.

Yeah but with bc pills I have gained weight....in the past some have caused my neck to break out along my jawline with bumps and there seems to be different side effects with each kind. I really hate the weight gain though that comes along with these pills. Also I have noticed every time I stopped taking the pill and then later started up again my breasts got larger. I went from a C to a DD. :woot: :grin
