Soulrev
So when I worked Sunday at the gas station I had a few "goths" dressed in mostly Victorian style clothing.. They were appreciating my tattoos and we were talking back and forth about clothes, crosses, and ink.. Well unfortunately I didn't get time to tell them about DGN but what was funny.. After the ladies left, this guy comes up, wearing his trucker hat and plaid shirt.. "Were they headed to a costume party?" I was like "Umm, no that's just how they dress" and he was like "What in the hell?" .. "They Satanists or somethin' ?" ... "Umm, no, it's just a way of dressing, there's everything from Christians to Buddhists that dress Goth" "Oh, Goth.. I heard that before" .. "That's the path to the dark side I know it, been there done that, evil shit" As he walked away from the counter.. Nothing better than an ignorant person to brighten up your day. Homicidalheathen
number 1 if he knew what a goth was from his own personal experience he would not have needed to ask the stupid questions in the first place number 2 he would know we are as diverse as anyone else..... Dont let it bother you I get this shit all the time.....was asked if I was a satanist a month or so ago......I am going to start answering yes because I dont care what anyone that ignorant thinks of me anyway AND I WANT TO SCARE THEM away so they leave me alone. bean
Ignorant people drive me nuts. Since I have had my septum pierced, I have had 3 people ask me if I worship satan. Apparently septum rings are on the "Signs One Might Be A Satanist" list. Fucknuggets.
EvilEve
ooh! that just reminded me of something. about 2yrs. ago when i was working at the movie thearter in Macomb Mall, i wore my necklace (pentacle w/ red gem in the middle of it) on the outside of my work shirt. this guy walks up, asks for this and that. i make it for him, tell him to have a good day, and he looks at me, then my necklace, looks back at me and asks "do you believe in god?" i just looked at him, and he walked away. i've almost gotten into verbal aruments with customers there on more than one occasion. that's when the manager decided that i had to wear my necklace "out of sight, or not at all." movie-making-grumpy-guy-talking-penis! (footnote: if you ever go up to Family Video on 10mi. and Kelly, look for a movie called Tainted. my old manager made that movie. he's the one that's balding in it.) what the hell?! it's ok for people to wear crosses and whatnot, but a pentacle means "you've lost sight of god! come back to us!" screw you! believe what you want, but don't drag me into it. i think it's pretty funny that when my sisters and i were little, i would get really bored with going to church. (yes, i realize that all kids get bored with just sitting there and having to go to Sunday school, but i didn't believe what they wanted me to. i was a much harder case, and they didn't know what to do with me.) if i didn't believe then, why should i now? i am what/who i am, and that's all there is to it. i can't just jump into a religion i was forced going to as a kid, and pretend that i believe in it when i don't. i have too many thoughts to just go with one thing. anyway, the point is that most people refuse to see outside of their little box of reality. things should be this way, and that's it, blah, blah, blah. ok, i'm done ranting. talk amongst yourselves. Brenda Starrr
I know what you mean. When people see my tattoos or any one of my unusual hair colors, they immediately think I'm a moron. However, as soon as I begin answering their questions or just speaking in general, that changes...... Who's the moron now?
