Mirrormask...

Second movie I intend to watch this weekend. If luck favors me.

Although, since I'm the only one in my little family here who has seen Corpse Bride, I'll probably be seeing that again. If they don't decide to go to Serenity twice.

Mirrormask pans to be a wistfully Sluagh type of a movie; so I figure that I'll like it a lot. It is certainly on my list.

i saw it tonight. i was going to come home and make a post about it. should have known you started it already ;)

i won't tell about it other than to say what i liked about it/disliked about it all around:

visually appealing. worth it to see if only for this aspect.

dialogue was lacking. story line- seemed to go one way then pull you another but never really seemed to fullfill either of them in my mind. that was lacking too. sort of bored me actually.

there were some aspects of the movie that could have made it really great had they developed that part of it more.

some cute/funny moments.

so over all - it was really just a very visually appealing movie. ;)

I thought the imagery was awesome.

The story was...bizarre to say the least.

Yeah i liked it...although it was slow at times.

Did the audience clap at the end when you saw it?

I saw it with some people on Saturday night after reading the book on Friday night. The book is actually just a short graphic novel based on the movie. Anyway, the movie is awesome, awesome, awesome. It's definitely something you want to see on a big screen. I'm a big fan of both Niel Gaiman and Dave McKean, and they did a fantastic job on "Mirror Mask."

This is a bit off topic, but I love being among Detroit audiences. I notice there is usually an actual reaction, good or bad, even in a movie theater. People laugh at jokes. I have seen people applaud good movies and boo crappy bands.

The audiences over here in west Michigan could be dead for all I know. I never hear a peep unless someone's pager goes off. So blah here.

That seems rather quick.  Anyway I love Ann Arbor and have been wanting to go there for some time so this is pretty cool.

Shit...not anymore. Seems like movies are released on DVD while their still in theatres these days. That's where they make their $$ anyway.
