Breast Augmentation Competition

Being a small busted woman myself, I've toyed (very limitedly) about having some work done. However, due to health and monetary concerns, it never has happened.

Clear Channel, while claiming that the idea did not originate from them nor are they going to keep their programming managers from running the contest, asked women to write to specific radio stations to explain why they should be chosen to have the augmentation. One radio station in Tampa, Florida was flooded with requests from about 91,000 women as to why they should be chosen.

This somewhat ties in with the other threads about "Does looks matter?" and "What is your perfect mate?" Are people just this shallow that they feel that if they have large breasts, then they will get more or better attention? Do they feel that this will really make them happy? Part of it, in my opinion, is what society's concept of what beauty is.

I will forever remember that my adoptive mother, whenever she would change clothes to get ready for bed, there were permanent indentations on her shoulders of about half an inch deep from her bra straps because of the natural size of her breasts. She always had to wear bras with cloth straps rather than elastic straps because of the weight; the elastic straps wouldn't hold up through the day.

Why would women put themselves through this on purpose? Why is it that large breasts are so very desirable? Guys, is it that much of a turn-on? Ladies, would you consider having a surgery of this type?

Dark, yes it is. And they're not sueing over the competition itself per se, but more from a "moral" standpoint more than anything. It's quite legal to give away complimentary breast augmentation procedures. But many are looking at what kind of picture it portrays.

I'm somewhere between a C and D cup. There's no way in hell I think I need IMPLANTS. However, age does make what one has head southwards, which is what I believe Brenda is also experiencing.

So the only thing I would consider having done is a lift - where they go in and sorta tighten things up on the top side, lifting things from underneath. Nothing artificial is inserted, things are just restructured so they don't sag anymore.

But the chance of me ever really wanting to spend the $$ to have this done is pretty freakin' slim. My husband has NOOOO problem with me as I am right now. And there are plenty of pretty bras, bustiers & other things that can help me "go north" again without invasive surgery.

As for other women having it done, I have several feelings on that. First, variety is the spice, no? The world would be boring with all Pamela Andersons floating around. I like to look at women's fashion, and there are some styles that big-breasted women just CAN'T wear. Hooray for those A cuppers out there who can wear things DD's can't.

Also, I do think it's partially a societal thing, the feeling that bigger is better. Which is sad.

I think women who are considering having it done should be forced to look at pictures of and hear the stories of women who suffered things like the strap gouges Genevra described, the bad backs I've heard other women suffer, etc. Though we all know there are women out there who wouldn't care anyway. But it might dissuade some.

I think women should have the choice though. I'm not advocating making them illegal or anything like that. Some intelligent, independent-thinking women out there might simply like the look of larger breasts - so nobody should be able to tell them "no".

But I think the only women who should not be questioned about their choice in having this done are victims of mastectomies. The contest would be a good thing if all the winners were women who had lost their breasts to cancer.

FC is right. My tiny breasts are heading south like birds do in winter. If I were to have them tightened, it would look like 2 sunny-side up eggs were just sitting there. So far, they still look pretty decent. If I were ever to get implants, they certainly wouldn't be huge: my back can't handle that. And again, Wayne loves me just the way I am. Sick sense of humor and all. Therefore, there is no hurry for me to get implants.

However, I would consider stringing fishing wire through them and tying them to my ears.

First off, small is good. small is great. nothing wrong with small. large, small, medium, doesn't matter.

Well the above statement sums it up for most of the male population.

 WE LOVE BREASTS.

I can understand womens concerns to some degree.

I suppose this concern is not much different than a mans concern for his size ( or the look of it ).

Part of it is to feel better about yourself and to be more at ease with ones appearence. For men though we do not have to worry about public apearences ( well, most of us don't ). I guess we lucked out in that dept. and we can piss standing up ( what has that to do with this?? ). Anyway, those are my 2 cents.

It's a nice thought but I doubt that any woman who had been through breast cancer would be willing to get breast implants. Those things give you cancer and the risk is too high, nor are they likely to be willing to have it. Plus, I don't know if it's possible to put in implants after a mastectomy.

Women have the choice to do it--that's their right; as far as I'm concerned, you can cut off your nose* if you want, but I really think that it's a bad idea. I was happy a couple of years ago when my boobs spontaneously gained a cup size (boobs are like that; they do odd things) but no way would I have had carcinogens implanted in my chest in order to have artificial, hard, obviously fake enormoboobs.

Guys, when you go into a titty bar (those who will admit to it) can you or can you not immediately tell which boobs are genuine?

*It's your face to spite.

fake breasts...

i prefer natural, but sometimes you can get women who have had breast jobs but you cannot tell unless they tell you (or knew them before)

i'm lucky living in wales, the celtic stock has comfortable sized chestagaes, there are a few women at the strip club i used to eat lunch at (only in wales :D ) that did induce droolage over, and i'm a leg and figure man, breasts are next to last on my list

well actually you can tell. i don't know if men have a hard time telling more so than women. but i always know fake breasts when i see them. and they always feel different. so if you are lucky enough to grab um, you'd be able to tell that way no matter what.
