I just wanted to bet against Christ.

I think we should come up with a plan to trick god into thinking it really is the appocolypse...you know, flush him out of the sky. -then we nab him and put him in a dunk tank-

Until he shows how to teleport.

Post script:

Do you think that if humans could teleport, there would be traffic jams in the warp zones?

I don't do Nostradumbass, either. Your bible says no one will know the day or the hour, anyway. That includes Italians.

And niether do you have a concept of what god is however, you chose the christian faith. I on the other hand am agnostic, but also I find Christianity/Islam/Judeaism the least likely possibility. Afterall, they've been disproved so many times.

Compared to almost any other religeon being true or the lack of any god(s) at all.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

While I'm not a Christian, there is a historical basis for believing in God/Christ (though there are many flaws in the logic and science) however I see no reason whatsoever to believe in Hindu, Pagan, Wicca, etc

And when has the Judao Christian thing been disproven?

Oh, there was indeed a Christ. No question about that. It's just the fact that entire civilizations with their own religeons existed before when the bible claims that the earth was created.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes. I know. I am agnostic as well, I guess - though I don't like that word.

However I am not sure that disproves God/Jesus/Muhammed/whatever. I think it's a big fairy tale myself, and the Bible stole alot from pagan gods before it......but I am not sure that proves anything.

I think some of the other "alternative" religions are a bigger joke than Christianity.

Yeah...that's why I'm agnostic. It's just less arrogant.

And I mean yeah, there really could be a tooth fearie, too. I don't know everything.

But look, it's my money.

Put your money where your faith is.

We'll set a date. If I lose, I have to pay you $500 worth of whatever after the appocolypse...and I guess I go to hell. If not, you owe me $500.

Let's say Jan 1st 2007.

I'll get some grief saying this on a goth board, but what's up with Wicca? Some guy named Gerald Gardner basically invents a religion based on ideas he stole from other religions and there are actually people who think it's real?

At least Christians scholars can write a thesis that makes Christianity seem plausible, most Pagan's spout what I consider to be absolute nonsense. I don't mean to be offensive, but if there is anyway that you can make me believe in Wicca or Magick or whatever, then please do so. Here is your opportunity. I have to say, science does not seem to side with Religion very often.

I agree with you. I don't really buy any of it.

People get mad, too.

But it's like-how do you teach someone to believe? I mean you hear something and you either believe it or you don't. It's not really a question of "evil" or "good". It either seems plausable to you, or it doesn't.

I simply do not believe in the Bible. It shouldn't be a big deal to a god. It's not like anyone can prove it to me, right?

But the bible tells us it is a big deal to not believe.

How does an all powerfull being care if Paper Hearts believes in him?Why would this omnipotent fucker need that? And then to go further and judge me worng and punish me for not believing what has never been proved? That's ridiculous.

This alone screams of bullshit. It's contradictory to the idea that god is actually caring and understanding. -But I'm supposed to believe in this?

I could go on, but the Bible makes no sense. And Islam and Judeaism are tied to it.

It would be easier to believe in God if there weren't gaping holes in the Torah, Holy Bible and Quran.

Troy and I talked about this the other day, sometimes Christian scholars find convenient ways to explain things.

In the bible it says King David will rule Israel forever and that Israel (jeruselum) will have peace for eternity.

Obviously that is one of the most war torn regions in the history of the world and has been for thousands of years (even in the times when there were very few jews it was a violent state). Obviously King David did not rule the land forever.

Explanation one from an evangelical: King David's bloodline is still ruling Israel and the peace part is unfulfilled prophecy. It will happen.

Explanation that Troy gave me: Jeruselum is a tribe of people (aka Jews) and not a state with geographical boundries, thus the Jews have survived in general prosperity. I think that was the gist of his explanation.

It seems evangelicals can write off any erroneous prophecy as it being "unfulfilled" that it will happen during Jesus's second coming, yet I find zero inferences to a second coming in the old testament.

I could be wrong, but I've looked and people much smarter than me have raised that same issue.

Yeah, what's this new theory of creationism--"intelligent design"? It's like just face it-you're wrong, quit changing your explanations.

I mean, in the event that I do have a soul, why would I entrust it's eternal well-being on what someone else simply tells me, let alone these people with their ever-changing accounts? If that's the way it's going to be, I'm better off thinking for myself.

And as far as Christ is concerned, touching story but nobody asked him for anything and I certainly didn't ask to be here. It makes no sense. Even if it is real, fuck it.
