I'm A Proud Mommy!

Recommended Posts

We received a letter from the National Honor Roll in D.C. Aymee has been nominated to be a part of the National Honor Roll!!! They are going to send an application she has to fill out and she has to submit a biography and then they select! I'm just proud she was nominated.

This is the final week of the first quarter she is very close to all A's!

Congrats on the grades!

But.....ummm.......sorry to be a downer, but National Honor Roll is a scam organization. The address they list in D.C. is actually just a Mailboxes, Etc. They get the parents all excited about their kids' achievements (which are still good, don't get me wrong) and then say they'll publish their bio in this book for free. Well, what parent wouldn't want a copy of that? So you buy the book and maybe some other stuff and that's how they make money. (Details about a third of the way down this page)

If your kids continue to do well, you'll probably get more similar offers like this in the future. I remember I'd enter ridiculous information in the bios like 'member of the pom pom squad' and make them include me even though I never paid for a book. Serves them right.

Stick with legitimate honor societies through the school.
