I am wearing sneakers!

Just thought I would let everyone know.

To rectify this horrible atrocity, I will spend the additional $5.00 in gas to go home to Belleville and put on my boots only to head back to Madison heights to visit Scary Guy. We will be having pizza and playing pool.

How could I even THINK of doing that in sneakers?? Yes, I suck.

I am even wearing my camoflouge pants. What a let down - camo's with white sneakers. They are not even comfortable!!

Why am I wearing them you ask? They look like crap, feel like crap... I was late for work and did not have the time to lace up my boots so I stepped into these things, realized what I had done about 5 miles into the 25 mile drive to work.....ughhh.

Isn't it a yukky feeling to be wearing something you don't feel yourself in?

I'm determined this year to throw out every single article of clothing I don't absolutely love. I may only have a few things left, but I'll work from there.

Sneakers are not that bad, depending on what's going on. Yes, to shoot pool, I would like some boots with some height on them because I'm vertically challeneged (read: I'm short.). However, because I work retail, I find that *for myself*, sneakers are an absolute must for me to even be able to walkout the door at the end of the shift.

I'm a total sneaker snob ... I must have the best, it stems from long lectures from my cross country coach.. unluckily the best for my feet aren't always the colors I want. *sobs* Sometimes I get lucky enough to match some of my workout gear that's as cool as I get. lol

thats kind of like the time I wore blue jeans sneakers and a white shirt with a blue plaid button up shirt over it when I went job hunting..

I felt embarrassed, didn't want to be seen in public like that.. Strange.

Dude, I am so used to that. I have been doing secretarial work for some time.

I have only recently started bothering to find stuff that I'd actually voluntarily wear and that still fits my own style. When I started doing full-time office work, I was 20, so I had no leeway. I dressed like Barbara Bush; I had to. Sometimes, that's necessary. Now the ultra-dowdy thing is no longer needed to counteract excessive youth (lucky me), and a lot of the modern styles are both acceptable and socially acceptable.

Personally, I mostly go for very severe stuff and only wear one color at a time. I don't wear a lot of patterns. It doesn't have to be dowdy to be minimalist. I still feel comfortable in a very simple, modern black pantsuit with a plain white blouse, or even my burgandy pantsuit and a black blouse, but I'm not going to stand out as a goth either. My favorite suit is one that I hope I'll be able to get into again; jackie O cut, red wool crepe with black velvet trim--yum!

For business casual offices, black slacks and a silk blouse; I can deal with wearing a blouse in color, especially since I have a lot of blouses in colors I like.

Anyway, here's a resource to help you find stuff that you still feel comfortable in and not get fired.
