The apartment behind us is available

My landlord was by today and showed me the apartment behind me (Victorian home separated into 3 apartments). It's really cute.

It's small. When you walk in, there's a small, carpeted living-room space. The kitchen area is about as small as a studio - but workable. There's a single bedroom, and the bathroom is reached through the bedroom. The bathroom has the only closet, but it's a decent sized one. Nice, big clawfoot bathtub.

I believe he's asking $450 a month. They allow pets, but charge $100 per pet non-refundable deposit. They don't know how many animals we have, so you'd need to be discreet.

You have access to the basement for storage - we definitely take advantage of that. Free use of washer & dryer. You have to share in the duties of mowing lawn, shoveling snow, etc. (not much snow to shovel).

We're quiet, Oakley barks at some outside noises occasionally but we shut him up pretty quickly. He's not the "separation anxiety" type of annoying, barking dog.

The guy who lives in the rear apartment is pretty quiet, too. He's sort of a stoner, but a pretty nice, responsible guy who definitely respects his neighbors.

Close access to bus lines, lots of nice shops & bars in the area. Various access to I-75 and I-94, about 10 minutes away maybe.

Note: The landlords thusfar have been slow to respond to our own needs here. The good thing is, they don't come around much, so we deal with it. If you don't have any issues with plumbing or anything, it won't matter. If you do, we'll help you get their asses over here in a united front.
