Are you answering your own questions, FC??  :wink

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

:grin I'm big on preparation, and needed to do some mapping today. So I did some research myself.

Holliwood - thanks. I also found 2 Salvation Army stores within a 6 mile radius of Barnes & Noble.

So I'm all set. Hope my luck continues. I picked up 4 more skirts, a shirt, and a pair of boxers in the past 2 days. I'm hoping to find more variety in tops, as I'd like to branch away from the t-shirts I wear so much. Harder to find good plus-sizes in tops, though.

The Value World on Michigan Avenue is right around the corner from me. It can be okay-ish. There's no dressing rooms, no real furniture but sometimes you can find a decent buy here and there. I go there when I need work clothes.

I like the Salvation Army in Troy a lot better.

Note:

Ann Arbor Thrift Shop at 3530 Washtenaw Ave is closed.

Thrift Shop the - 14 S Washington St in Ypsilanti is very tiny and closes early - call for hours before going.

Ann Arbor Pto Thrift Shop - 1621 S State St - Has moved. They're in the same general area, but call them for new address.

Value World 1401 W Michigan Ave (or 1410) - Ypsi - non-existent. We drove that entire area twice and couldn't find it. Ginevra - you say you go to that one. What were we missing?

Value World - 345 N Maple Rd A2 - decent, typical Value world. Jon got a few Abercrombies, including a great jacket.

I also found addresses for 2 salvation armies. The one that used to be on Arbana is now where the PTO USED to be - by the fruit market/train tracks. It's fantastic. Very large, very well sorted.

The one on Packard was a business/family office, not a store.

I didn't get a thing. I think the type of clothes I like to pick up are eaten up fast by the students in the area. I do better in the 'burbs closer to Detroit.

Froyn - I live downriver, and shop at the Salvation Army in Garden city often. We can't stand that Value Thrift - they're overpriced, and cranky.

We were just making a trip out to A2 so figured we'd hit up thrift stores while we were in the area. I hit up all the thrift stores from Southgate to Livonia often.

FC, it's right on the corner of Michigan Avenue and a dead end street. There used to be a casket store right across the dead end street from it but it just recently closed. I don't really remember there being a sign now that I think about it, but I could be wrong. I looked at Rand McNally online and plugged in the 1401 address and that's correct. If you're still not sure, let me know when you guys are going to be in the area again and I'll be happy to show you specifically where it is if I'm off work that day.

The one by the railroad tracks in A2 is fairly new. They used to be on Ecourse by the McD's but closed down about a year ago. By the tracks is the new location. That used to be a bookstore that sold lower than original price new books. (Did that last sentence make sense? )
