HipsterDufus
Okay, so it's snowing here in Western Michigan. I don't know about the East side of the state. And for some really weird reason I'm enjoying it... Normally I absolutely despise snow, but I've been listening to VNV Nation and watching it fall. "Standing" was a particularly good choice for watching the snow fall. I'm sure I'll hate it when it's still snowing in April, but for now.... Good times. Draco1958
The roads out your way sucked big time tonight, I-96 near I-69 was icing up, many spinouts. My crew and I turned around and headed back cuz the roads were so bad. Usually we go all the way to Indiana but tonight we didn't even make it to Charlotte, Mi. I'm still trying to enjoy it before I inevitably get pissed off for the rest of the winter until I see green on the trees. Oh well. At least our cars are okay in the snow. gothicmom
I like the snow. I enjoyed watching it yesterday. I was amazed at how much came down! A few inches! Our car doors wouldn't open, they were iced closed. So I have kids at home. Not a big deal, they hardly ever miss school. I hope daniel gets that junk car out of the garage soon! Fierce Critter
We missed snow so badly when we lived in NC. Oh, they had some, but not much. Mostly ice storms. Precious little accumulation. A lifelong Michigander, I have never had a problem with the winter weather - snow, cold and all. Where else do you get to wear two completely different wardrobes within a single year?!?!? Jon is also a big time snow lover. He had to call and leave a message on our answering machine today about how happy he was that it was snowing on the eastside where he's doing some door repairs. This will probably be good for Oakley, too. He's got hip displaysia. Even as a puppy he spent every spare moment lying directly on the air conditioning vent. Apparently he has the type of arthritis that responses more favorably to cold than to heat. Can't wait to play in the snow with him. Shortly before Jon and I moved, I rediscovered sledding. There's a great hill in Woodhaven where we went, Jon on a cheap snowboard, me on a sled. It was incredible fun. Haven't done that since I was a very small child. A few fluffy flakes were falling this morning when I took Oakley outside. Ahh, I love it.
gothicmom
When we first moved to NC, every one said "It hardly ever snows here". It snowed every winter! One year we had enough to go sledding. We snooped around our small town for a sled, at the 2 hardware stores! What they did have was quite expensive. We used the car top carrier lid! All 3 of us fit and went sledding. Nothing like a Hillbilly bobsled!

Heh. Jarod in summer: jeans + t-shirt. Jarod in winter: jeans + t-shirt + coat. I have gloves, too. Maybe I'll buy boots this year.
