Who is going to get the Xbox 360?

Recommended Posts

I just came home from a buddys house whom invited me to the Thanksgiving dinner they had. We also sat down and played the 360 while waiting for the food. The graphics were pretty badass on the Quake 4 and Call of Duty. Had lots of fun playing it. Can't wait for Gears of War.

I have 3 words to explain why PC gaming will never mean the end of console gaming: Screen size & comfort.

I don't know many people who can afford a 27" or larger monitor for their PC. And I'd much rather play my PS & PS2 games from the comfort of my couch, La-Z-Boy, beanbag chair or Nintendo chair (one fo those L-shaped armless things that sits on the floor) in front of a 27" or 32" or larger screen, with the TV piped through my stereo system.

No way I'll sit in front of a 17" monitor on a cruddy desk chair when I can play from my freaking BED if I want to.

Not to mention, in multiple-member family homes, sometimes dad's gonna need to pay the bills using Quicken on the computer when Billy & Jane want to play Chrono Trigger.

I've decided I want one. Anyone know where I can get one? Also if I get the $299 version will I be screwed? I don't care about online gaming but I'll pay the extra $100 if it means I'm getting a superior version of the Xbox 360.

Dissappointed a bit thought that FIFA 2006 and NBA Live 2006 supposedly are good games for the Xbox but both SUCK on the XBOX360 according to reviews, as EA Sports rushed the Xbox360 versions apparently.

Also I wish that new Matrix game was on the Xbox 360 but the system is backwards compatible, right?

Either way, I already know that NBA 2k6 is sweet!

I have been a long time EA sports fan myself, until the last few years as the 2K sports games have stolen the show as of late. NBA 2K6 has great reviews for the 360, but I am not sure if they have ever developed a FIFA title, but I could be mistaken.

For the $299 system, you can still get the extra features that the $399 system has, but it will cost you a greater amount of money in the long run as you will have to purchese the extra features seperately. Plus if you not get the $399 version you will have no hard drive so you would need to buy a memory card so you can save your progress in our gaming. The memory card alone is $40. So might as well just shell out the extra cash for the $399 version witch has extra features such as the chrome finish, the hard drive, the headset, the HD TV cable, the ethernet cable, and finally the wireless contoler (the $299 version has a wired controller). The better buy is the $399 version if you want more "bang for your buck" so to speak.

The Xbox 360 is being reported to be sold out until January/ February, but it is possible that you can get one sooner. Your best bet would probably be keeping careful tabs on retailers that don't allow pre-orders, such as Best Buy, Target, and CostCo. Then again, those retailers are strictly dependent on how many systems are actually shipped to them, so actually very few systems could be found on store shelves.

Yes, the 360 will be backwards compatiable. A program will be offered for this feature in the future, quite possibly by late winter, but you would need the hard drive to use this feature.

I hope I was some help to you.

thanks wou8nds within, for basketball fans (which I didn't ecpect to find here but the pistons seem to have fans on this website) the 2k games are incredible, way better than NBA live.

So I am gonna get that game first if I can find a xbox360 this week. Then I am going to get the matrix game.

thanks again.
