Thanksgiving alone :(

Recommended Posts

I can understand why you'd feel that way, Onyx. I've spent my holidays pretty much alone for the past three or four years. Thing is, I've kind of come to prefer it that way, in a twisted sense. It's a difficult thing to explain, but since my parents' divorce, the holidays just never seemed the same.

That said, I'm going to visit my dad in South Carolina this Christmas. We'll see how that turns out.

this has been great folks, watching stuff come togethor. Some of you dark goths are in danger of being publically exposed as nice people.

Can we set up a definitive list then? An "I need a place to go" thread and an "I have a place to go" thread?

anyone can IM me and I'll give you my phone number.

Onyx - do you have Xmas plans?????

I will someday put us on a "come here for _____ occasion" list for sure. Just not until we're living in a place bigger than a shoebox.

A very, very, tiny shoebox.

Like, a size 3.

And here's a suggestion. I was thinking, "Critter, it's gonna be hard to ever host something like this since your family does stuff on the actual holidays, and thus you'll always be occupied".

But here's an idea. Maybe some of us can't make ourselves available the day OF the holiday, but can do it the day before or after.

Heck, maybe we can even organize a rotating "Day after Christmas/Thanksgiving/whatever" party so that, even if it's not on the actual DAY, lonely goths will know there's a celebration for them to go to and share with people at holiday time.

And then, even those of us who do have family to spend the actual day with, the "day after party" will be a great opportunity for us to share our "dinner with family" horror stories with those who REALLY care!

Sorry. Babbling. Just stream-of-consciousness brainstorming here...
