If it's boring, go do something. Like, get off your ass and leave your desk! There's an idea. I'm not here so much because I work 40+ hours a week. I'm exhausted when I get home. I can barely keep up some days. It's not my life.

.....you have made 48.740291 times as many posts as I have. From which one could imply that DGN is 48.740291 times more your life than mine.

Nothing is perfect and every site on the interent has it's time of boredome. DGN is not any different and is not perfect, so yeah of course there are gonna be those dull moments especially this time of year. People are busy with there families for the holiday season.

I for one have always felt welcome here and I have a few friendships with others on DGN who I enjoy speaking with and hearing back from.

DGN changed allot over the past few months, i dont know why, maybe al lthe drama, maybe because some people left..... maybe because some people got pulled in to clics and now instead of being a person  they are now part of the drama, maybe  to many people got hurt so others are less open?

I think some people came here to change the tone for there own liking  they were being selfish and forgot that this was a place for every one not just them.

I dont think DGn has gotten boring just changed tone, comfort level and is no longer a haven that many of us enjoy.

Also it is the busiest season of the year, if you are busy with friend family shopping etc... dont ya think everyone else is?  Well if you are busy and some ruined your haven, the one place you might go when you do have a moment to relax, would you bother?

Yep, I would have to agree with this

Exactly - I would say more but then my thoughts will get censored.

That statement sums up more about why DGN is boring than anything else that I've read.

That is when I wasn't working. I wasn't bored, either. Now, I work. And, I'm not bored. There's a difference.

Mine relates to this post. After all, one of the options is, "When boring people started posting to much pity party crap". And as stated early, that's me. I'm the emo bore. But, as my quote says, "I'm not emo. I'm bitter and resentful. There's a difference." See, it all ties in.

You know, it's exactly this type of thing that makes being a moderator so very discouraging. You might be surprised how many of us have considered resigning, and we have lost a few already. I come here after work and find IMs waiting for me complaining aout this and that and some days I've spend literally hours sorting through crap trying to decide what the best thing for the board is.

Some days when people complain about what we do I feel like a punching bag and then I start asking myself why I even care enough to spend time trying to help out here.

Then I remember the friends I've made and how nice Troy has always been to me.

I see what goes on behind the scenes. Nothing is ever moved or deleted without a lot of thought and discussion, and sometimes we may make a mistake, but overall I do think we do a good job of keeping the spam down and putting posts in the right place so there is some sort of organization.

Can you suggest ways for us to do a better job? If you have suggestions I would be happy to hear them, and I am quite sure the other moderators would also.

Take a look around the net. There are a lot of spam-filled type of boards out there filled to the brim with infighting. Is that what you really truly want to happen to this board?

i miss sooth. :(

hows the book? and the music?

Me too. I realized the other day that he wasn't posting regularly anymore. Shame on me for not noticing sooner. =(

Cliques? I don't sense that. Probably more the fact that there are a lot of recent off line friendships/relationships made that work their way back to the boards...

Cmon back Sooothy!!!!!!

That's what I see too. There's a lot of us who are great friends on and off the board.

i agree with the above... for those who feel the mods are being heavy-handed, i would love to hear suggestions on how things might be better handled...

it's been said that you can't please everyone, but i think overall, the mods are doing an excellent job of keeping things from degrading into anarchy...

You read my mind.

I'm just curious as to what it is that upsets our members. Is it the fact that we won't tolerate rudeness? Maybe it's that we won't let people fight like little children on the board. Who knows? I'm unsure as to what our members actually expect our board to be. Does it upset them that we move or delete posts when people break the rules? We're adults here. We can either act like an adult or go to another board where the petty (or not so petty) arguments are acceptable.

I came to this board because it WASN'T like other boards that I had perused. This one was different. I fell in love with the fact that there is a Phee, a Troy, a JaneDead, etc. These are people who are funny, they have something to say, and are always entertaining. These are people who are serious when they need to be, and fun every other time. The list is too long to mention, but I have developed friendships with so many. There are so many more that I'd like to meet. I don't like the fake names, the rudeness, the off-board issues that are brought on here to humiliate others. This is the crap that I'm tired of seeing. These fakes don't make the board interesting, they make it pathetic. Sure, we should all be able to speak our minds, but how about doing it in a more mature way? Why is that so hard?

And no. My post count isn't out of boredom. If I was bored, Zhuk, I would have gotten up and done something else. Like people do when they're bored. My post count is high because I had (see HAD) fun here. Because I can joke with some of our members, and they can joke back. I didn't join this board and post my ass off as a way of becoming popular. I'm just like everyone else-I like to talk to others here. I like knowing that there are people who think like me. I like knowing that I can share my views with the board, and get opinions or feedback if I need help. Many, many of you have been very helpful to me, getting me through some really tough times. And, I thank you. I hope that I've done the same.
