Onyx
I work as an editor, editing other transcriptionist's work (reports from hospitals and doctor's offices). At my company they just started auditing the editor's reports monthly. I got my score today for November. I scored 100% on medical terminology, 100% on grammar, spelling and tense, 100% on demographic accuracy, for a total overall score of 100% Wheeee! Oh, the pressure. No room for improvement, and now that I've bragged about it, I must be extra careful not to make a horrifying grammatical error. *sigh* Life is so difficult when you're perfect. :innocent
Head Wreck
pffft. so many spelling errors in that test. *passes onyx a propper english dictionary with pronounciationjs* queens english is by far the best, esp for scoring with foregners. Onyx
Way to go Onyx! That sounds like a nifty job. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *takes bow* Thank you, thank you! heh heh. Some days it is pretty nifty and some days it makes me want to tear out my hair, but overall it suits me and my skills. There's a pretty high turnover rate in this position. It gets very tedious and makes for what feels like a very long day sometimes.

I'd rather have a tedious desk job than deal with people all day.

You haven't got a Scooby, have ya? Gercha! What, you fall down the apples or something and rattle your loaf? Hittin' the Aristotle a little hard, are we? Is your gaff a battle cruiser? Cor blimey, how do you Bo Peep at night being such a Billy-no-mates? I prefer Cockney myself.
Onyx
Thanks Marblez Very nice of you to think of me! Maybe someone else can use that info though. I would love to move (like today!) but right now it's impossible due to my ex and custody arrangements. The judge ordered that we must either both agree to move or stay within 100 miles of each other till my youngest is 18. I could actually take my job with me because I transmit my work electronically. I was planning to move to Ann Arbor last year but he changed his mind and would not consider it. (which is ridiculous because he spends nearly every weekend driving to east Michigan to visit his friends - would be so good for us both as far as I'm concerned. My kids love Ann Arbor too. I still hope he may change his mind, but who knows. I hate this situation, but I'm dealing with it the best I can.

I'm a copy editor for a movie database. I get to correct writer's spelling and usage mistakes all day long. There are definitely worse jobs, but yes, sometimes this kind of work can get a wee bit tedious. Sometimes I take long, leisurely walks to the coffee machine just for a break.
