Widget is lucky. I had a cat that a huge absess on her belly, huge as in tennis ball size. One morning when I woke up, I found her on the kitcken floor dead and the absess had popped. I was very yound when this happened, otherwise she would have been seen by a vet. =(

I hope your kitty is healing well =)

Oh shoot i had forgotten to update.... Holidays :doh

Any how he is actually doing GREAT.....

They kept talking of doing "surgery" if it did not "start" healing a bit faster...... So they put us on cleaning him twice a day, added a Topical drop and gave him another round of oral anitbitotics.... well i cant afford surgery for a freaking cat so i Followed in detail not missing one single cleaning etc..... even on soem days when it looked extra gross i would clean it let it air a bit then clean it again befor i put the cone back on him.... While my diligence paid off, we went yesterday to the vet she was very pleased with how well he is doing and stapled him up, left a smal opening atthe bottom for drainage and cleaning, Said the way it looks no surgery will be needed...... She sent me off with more meds and cleaning solution said coem back in 2 -3 weeks to remove the staples...... So far so good...... and they are really working with me allot..... I had the kids with me and they got him all excited about volunteering.... HE wants to work with animals now :innocent

That's awesomely great news. Pets are like family to so many. I know that I feel like that, as does Wayne and the kids.

I love good news.

LOl ya know i LUV good news!! LOL

Yeah he is an importan part of the daily happiness of the family, we al lenjoy watching him play, he snuggles with all of us even the kids, My youngest son has spent many hours keeping out of trouble by pulling a string around in circles as the cat chased him...... Provides allot of fun for us.....

Glad your kitty is healing well.  Poor thing.  I hate to see sick and hurt animals.

ty...... I am glad he no longer has the sick attitude, all frumpy and sad eyes... although since the staples he has been less active, they must be a bit sore but he take it all in good stride, no scratching or anything. Such a sweetheart, the vets have been pleased (and so have I) as his nature has kept them from having to put him out for anything thay have done. I am sure it not only save me $ but them allot of time and hassel.

An update......

I know its been months but i thought i would let you all know Widget passed away this past Sunday. He had been doing real well, gotten all better then he slipped out side again, goy new wounds, so we cared for those and we got him fixed He had been staying inside doing good then some how soemthing festerd and he had another infection in his paw this time, so we spent three weeks nursing him and he was not getting better, then find out he has FIV (cat version of HIV). The vet let us keep him to see if he would rebound but he did not.

:cat:
