Fierce Critter
Some of my favorites include The Hindenberg, Airport '77 (the one where the plane goes down in the ocean), and Earthquake - which you already mentioned. The "disaster" in The Hindenberg comes in mostly at the end. But the rest of the story plays out well. Saw that and Airport '77 at a drive-in double feature night. Don't know what a drive-in is? Consult your parents, young pups.
Draco1958
I remember Drive-In movies, still have one in the area, just not a good area. Day after Tomorrow is a good one. I remember the movie The Day After, it's about nuclear war and stars Jason Robards. And mentioning Meteor, might as well bring up Armeggedon. SciFI showed a couple of disaster movies like The Day after Tomorrow, Dean Cain was in one of them called Post Impact. I believe Deep Core falls into this category also.
